I had a great experience at Awaafi in Edinburgh. I tried the Beef Rib Mandi and the Mangala Choru, and both dishes were excellent. The beef rib mandi was incredibly tender, full of rich flavor, and perfectly spiced, with the rice cooked just right and beautifully aromatic. The mangala choru was equally impressive, comforting, well-balanced, and packed with authentic taste that really stood out.
The service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. The staff were welcoming, patient, and happy to explain the dishes, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Orders were handled efficiently, and the food arrived in good time. Best place for authentic Indian food, this is my second visit here, this place gets super busy sometimes so yesterday I ordered for collection because there was no table available. But really enjoyed the food, had Tandoori Mixed Grill, Haryali Chicken, Kerala fried chicken, Spicy Chips, Chicken bhuna, King Prawn Madras (very spicy). When you order for collection the portion is massive but when you dine in Portion is small. curry portion is massive but rice portion is very small. Anyway overall it’s a good place to dine in, also staff was very friendly she let me microwave my left over f food from yesterday which I also bought from them because I checked out from my hotel at 11:00am and had some left over curry.

Tried Awafi Indian Arabic Cuisine and absolutely loved it! The Malabar Dum Biryani was flavourful and aromatic, the Chicken Kerala Fry and Fish Kerala Fry were perfectly spiced and crispy, and the Alfaham Mandi was tender and delicious. Every dish was spot-on. Great food, great flavours — definitely worth visiting! Highly recommended!

We had an amazing dining experience at Awaafi, Edinburgh. The food was outstanding and the ambience was equally impressive warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed.
We tried the Beef Ribs Mandhi, Chicken 65 (Chef’s Special), Kerala Porotta, and Iffa Chicken, and every single dish was packed with authentic flavour and cooked to perfection. The mandhi was rich and tender, the Chicken 65 had the perfect balance of spice, and the porotta with Iffa chicken was a real treat.
What made it even more special was my daughter saying it was the best Mandhi she has had anywhere in the UK and honestly, we completely agree.
A special thanks to the main chef, Naushad bhai, for such wonderful food and hospitality. You can truly feel the passion and care behind every plate.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for high quality Indian and Kerala cuisine in Edinburgh. We’ll definitely be back!

Top notch food and service! ❤️ hot and fresh. everyone was happy with the authenticity of the recipe. Love it! Great food, haven’t had good authentic Indian in a long time. The people were super kind, friendly and sweet 🙂 forgot to take pictures because the food was so good, went straight in. Love it. Good luck Awaafi.
Make reservations, we waited for tables to clear for about 10-20 mins. So best to make reservations. But definitely worth the wait.

The food was so good omg, I highly recommend the lamb chops they are cooked to perfection. It is also the perfect spice level for western pallet as my European friend didn’t find it spicy at all. The staff are so lovely always making sure everything is okay!! The price is also so fair for the food, and potion sizes are perfect and filling we even had to take some food home for takeaway.
