The food was good, honestly nothing specially amazing, but it was accurate and good. It was plated nicely and with care on the tray. I didn’t realize they made their root beer in house and is served out of the old school ceramic dispenser. It was awesome and delicious and served out of a glass mug!
The people were great. The lady that took our order was a delight. Now the ordering experience is where it starts to get really cool. You can do a traditional walk up to the counter inside or carhop drive in style outside. OR you can literally order from the table on a telephone. I have NEVER seen that before.
The place has an old, like 80s style vibe. It is well cared for and clean and neat.
This is truly a gem of a place. The only thing I wish they did was wear name tags so I could name the girl that served us because she was such a delight.
Another great experience at this A&W while passing through town! The young adult staff are all super attentive and friendly. It says a lot about this towns youth and a well managed store.
Still 5 out of 5!
While visiting the town of Berthoud for a high school event, we happen to go to A&W on the way out of town and had a great first experience.
The place is not real big and authentically vintage, but the staff are super friendly and attentive and do a good job keeping the place clean and getting customers served. Some tables have the old style telephone to place your order.
Our order came out quickly, accurately and was delicious and the best part was getting fresh made A&W root beer in a cold frosty mug! It even has a vintage drive up and order and eat from your car if you prefer. Parking is limited due to small footprint and being on a corner.
We enjoyed it so much that on a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park we made plans to stop here again on our way back
It was another busy Saturday and once again the staff were Rock Stars !
The subtle thing that I noticed on this trip was the food comes out looking just like the pictures on the menu.
Seems like a simple concept, but many fast food restaurants underdeliver in this area.
It’s worth going a little bit out of your way to stop at this A&W and take a step back in time and have a great meal.
Great price combos, great root beer float with great burgers and fries.
Right at corner of Mountain ave and 8th street, because of its popularity, parking could be a bit challenge during busy hours like meal time.
I likes the double mushroom burger combo, the great beef patties combined with good layers of mushroom.
Their pork tenderloin sandwich had good favor and good seasoning not overpowering.
Texas toast melt was a bit too salty.
This place is different. Every time I visit the food is unbelievably fresh and tastes amazing. I understand the hype around root beer floats now too. I’ve never had them this good before. Plus the dining room is a time capsule; a mini museum of drive thru history.
One has to imagine that this is exactly how grandma remembers it. Highly recommended.
5 I got the double mushroom burger and it was tasty. Got the onion rings and they we’re hot and crispy. Solid hot fresh meal got there around 11am. Super friendly staff and great old school vibe. They have the outside drive in park spots like sonic. Hidden gem.
