We only ordered shakes, but they were delicious. The employees truly made this experience great. They were young, maybe high school age or fresh out of school, but they were happy to be there, happy to help & very friendly, making conversation with me while the shakes were being blended. A&W in Paynesville has great service and food. We both ordered their cheeseburger, but my husband ordered fries and I ordered cheese curds. The cheeseburgers were great, we shared the fries and cheese curds. We were pleasantly surprised that the cheese curds were so good. Reminded us of the state fair. All in all the experience, food and of course the root beer floats were excellent. We will be back.

We always love coming to A&W! The food was great except I did ask for a banana shake and I got a vanilla shake instead. No harm, no foul. I enjoyed it anyways! The root beer was fantaboulous!! As always!

My grilled chicken sandwich was good. Hubby’s burger was okay. Cheese curds and root beer floats tasted quite different (not in a good way) from other A&W restaurants. Friendly service.

Always timely and it’s great to have an A&W around, always a stop when I’m passing through Paynesville. Has always been clean when I’ve been in there as well. Cheese curds also influence me positively. The breading on the chicken tenders reminds me of getting banquet chicken as a child… Keep up the quality!!!

Food was ok, they forgot our cheese curds and took forever. I’ve been here quite a few times and usually the food is good but takes a long time and the staff have never more than grudgingly accepted that they are there to make food for other people.

Edit to add: I made a point to stop for another hamburger the next time I came through a couple months later. My hamburger was excellent, again! Worth stopping for a hamburger, folks!
