If you come here, you’re guaranteed a quality experience. High quality beef with soft but crunchy fries. Would you like to drink your root beer out of a mug? This is the place.

This is our first time here. It wasn’t busy. We were greeted right away. I was with some of my family. My father is a navy veteran and was thanked by the manager for his service. They then had a conversation. The employees were super friendly. Made us feel like friends stopping in. The atmosphere was great. Very clean and lots of personal details. Food was average price and very good. Chicken and burgers tasted great. This may have to be a frequent stop on our way to Minneapolis.

I base these reviews on expectations and based on what I expect from a fast food joint, this place blew all expectations away.
Service was top notch and food came out super fast. This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere but seems to stay busy. Restaurant and tables were all clean. Cashier was very friendly. They even had a guy who was dressed in the classic style of what you’d expect to see at a 1950’s car hop. Awesome!
Food was hot and fresh, not to mention delicious and came out to $13 a person! Very reasonable!
The cherry on top was the FRESH root beer which was amazing and only made better with a frozen mug so cold it froze the top of the beverage. Wow!
We pass by here on the way to the cities and this will definitely be on our must stop list going forward. This is a great find! I’ve been to other A&W restaurants but this one is obviously run with love and passion! I absolutely love finding places like this!

A&W: good food, friendly employees, good location. I love the root beer float and the double cheeseburger, and chicken tenders (on a separate visit).
Con: prices are a bit high.

This restaurant is just plain FUN to visit!! The Double Cheeseburger was juicy and delicious, the onion rings were the best I have EVER eaten, the root beer tasted freshly made that day, and the order taker was super friendly and kind!! She’s a HARD worker!!!

We ordered chicken tenders & fries. All of it was made fresh on the spot for us at 2:30pm on a Monday. Delicious. Chicken was of good quality. Similar to Canes. Very clean restaurant. Staff were friendly & helpful. Everything you could want in a lunch road stop!

We happened to wheel by, seen your signage. We love A&W! Too many of them are dying! Which is sad for us. Our experience was great! Clean, prompt, and attentive! Just wanted to share another experience. The novelties that we purchased was great for us. You see, we purchased this vintage Chrysler boat. Our lake friends “Dubbed it as the A&W boat”. So we went on-line and purchased licensed decals for the boat. Today at your location, we were able to purchase a mascot and a captains hat for the craft. How exciting for us! Food was great. Root beer made locally and fantastic!!! This place is also truck friendly. You turn at Casey’s and follow the bright yellow signs to the truck turnaround. You can park the truck on the side of the road. Do NOT pull into the parking lot.

I stopped at the Moutain Lake MN A and W on my drive for a quick bite to eat, and I am amazed on how amazing everything at this location was!!! Most importantly, the order taker Cristy was so professional and kind; you hardly ever see teenagers actually care about working in a fast food restaurant, but Cristy was amazing. Right when I walked through the door I was greeted and she came up right away to help me. It is great to see the order taker care about the appearance of the restaurant, as they are the first impressions people get. Also, food was fast and fresh, and the place was very clean, even in the bathrooms. I rate this restaurant 100 out of 10! Cristy and the staff deserve all the recognition.
