We had a great experience here! We’re from Texas, so we aren’t used to having access to an A&W, which made it even more exciting to stop by. The food was excellent hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I love when my chicken is so fresh out of the fryer that I have to let it cool off before eating; that’s how you know it’s fantastic! The restaurant itself was impressively clean, honestly the cleanest A&W we’ve ever been to, and the service matched that level of quality quick, polite, and very friendly. And of course, my favorite part about A&W is the completely fresh root beer. They serve it in an awesome frozen glass mug, which just makes the whole experience that much better.

We stopped by on 11/13/25 around 8:40 PM, and the male and female employees working the drive-thru provided some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. It was unexpected for a drive-thru, but so appreciated. To those two workers — thank you. You were genuinely so kind!
Food: Phenomenal. Everything was hot, fresh, and flavorful. We tried the burger, cheese curds, chicken tenders, fries, and corn dogs. The fries were a standout!
Desserts: The root beer float was nostalgic and delicious, but the star was the chocolate shake. I asked for Oreos to be added, and it ended up being one of the best shakes I’ve ever had from a drive thru.
Overall, an excellent experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Why isn’t A&W busier? I can never figure out why they aren’t busy all the time. Maybe it’s lack of advertising, because the burgers are good, the chicken is made from scratch, the root beer is really good, and the pricing is in line with every other fast food restaurant these days. Get a cold mug for the root beer if you dine in.
It takes a little while to get your food because they make everything fresh. It’s worth the wait.

Was our first time at the restaurant 8/30/2025 we both ordered the #1 combo had the float for 1 and I had to have the pumpkin flavored shake. Was a really good experience with our food and atmosphere. Definitely will be going back. Only 1 issue was our table was super sticky and we moved to another one and it was sticky as well but it happens when you get busy no worries.

I had A&W years ago in Ohio and it was the best burger I had ever fasted upon. My wife ate cheeseburgers at most restaurants we went to so I always told her about the legend of the A&W burger. Well a few weeks ago, we went to the Lexington location and she now agrees, A&W burgers are THE BEST!! ✌️

Update 4/20/2024
Have to update the review due to the change from fresh burgers made to order which were juicy and awesome to some type of premade or frozen patties. They are no longer juicy or flavorful, just a run of the mill burger now. I used to drive 20 minutes just for their food but now I rarely stop even when I drive by it.
Burgers are meh, cheese curds have changed went from great to ok, chicken decent, and mini corn dogs good.

Classic A&W taste at a great location. I ordered the spicy papa burger, root beer cream freeze and could not have been more satisfied with my meal. I did not get the name of the woman that took my order but I believe she was the manager whom was extremely nice and made sure the food came out perfect. Thank you again for the great food and hospitality. This location definitely gets a recommendation from me.

We’ve been here several times and the service is hit or miss. Seems like they have made some improvements recently to staff and process.
ordered a rootbeer float which they put in a frosty mug, but as soon as he set it on the counter it erupted into a volcano all over the counter and the staff just stood there and watched the mess it made. No attempt to clean it up or make a new one. By the time it was done erupting, the glass was nearly out of rootbeer. They picked it up and handed it to my daughter and then cleaned the counter. Guess if it explodes it’s your problem to deal with. Glad I didn’t order this from the drive thru.

Good choice when you are wanting fast food, but looking for something other than McDonald’s or Wendy’s. Service was fairly quick and the inside of the restaurant looks new and clean.
