BEEF BRISKET OR POT ROAST? You decide.
The chunk of meat on my $18 sandwich seemed like the latter. I could’ve pulled a chunk of pot roast outta my mom’s Dutch oven and reproduced this sandwich with inadequate sauce or smokiness and a decent dollop of coleslaw. Not sliced, Texas style brisket. It had the consistency and flavor of chuck roast. But I paid for brisket. I won’t be back. Big disappointment.

Horrible horrible horrible!!!! We ordered a $30 2 beef rib plate bbq beans, Mac n cheese; a 1/2 lb of beef brisket a side of cole slaw and cornbread. All food was cold, rib and brisket was dried out and tough, sides were cold, and the corn bread was not corn bread it tasted like zucchini/banana bread and cinnamon flavor. I asked for a refund on why they claimed was cornbread, and a to go box, the lady handed me a to go box that was dirty inside . I go back in to ask for my money after taking the box out to my sister, go in and the owner/managers then there doing a till count with the lady , i asked if he was the box, told him what happened, she gave me the refund for the “cornbread” and handed me my money and the boss just said ok bye, NO APOLOGY, NOTHING!! Worst ever and for the price ridiculous how we were treated!! .5 of a star NOT EVEN 1!!

Driving down PCH, I got this incredible good smoke smell. Found it coming from this place. There isn’t much to this restaurant, but it delivers on the menu.
Something must have changed in the last year or so. Now it’s Mexican and BBQ, before it was BBQ and Pies. With the Mexican on the menu, they have some authentic items, and if you order tacos, you can get them BBQ or Mexican style. BBQ being with slaw and sauce, Mexican being cilantro and onions.
The meats are good, but portions could be better, more filling than meat would be nice.

Bbq is pretty good and definitely well made. The brisket was a little greasy but still very good flavors. Ribs were awesome. The 2 meats and 2 sides for $30 is a good deal and decent proportion for 2 people. The California burrito was also very good. Bbq sauce was great. Hot sauce with burrito was really good.
Prices were pretty good and cheaper than most places in this area
There isn’t much seating. For groups of 3 or more probably better to do take away.

I ordered the beef rids with corn bread and potato salad, the rids were NOT fall off the bone tinder in fact there wasn’t much meat on the bone at all, the cornbread was burnt and the potato salad was very bland. I ordered on door dash app to my hotel this was not money well spent food was disappointing I called restaurant to speak with someone about my experience and was left holding on phone waiting to speak to manager. I won’t be ordering food again from Avy’s

i live at one of the local high rises a block away. it was recommended to try Avys BBQ by a neighbor, so I did. First try and it was disappointing. Ribs are dry and they forgot my BBQ sauce. Total cost for lunch was $74.86 (waste) Very disappointing just being a block away.

This was the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. My wife and I each took one bite and threw everything straight into the trash. It felt like chewing on dried wood. Honestly, it tasted as if they had refrigerated leftover barbecue from several days ago and reheated it in the microwave until it was just lukewarm.
The quality was unbelievable—in the worst way. I trusted this place because it’s a local restaurant, but I ended up feeling completely ripped off. Leaving this review so others don’t have the same experience.

Stopped in for lunch while getting my car washed next door. Ordered the spare ribs, collard greens, and mac & cheese.
I can’t remember having ribs this tender, they were excellent. Sides were great as well. Check this place out, I know I’ll be coming back.

This spot. OMG. This is hands down the absolute best barbecue spot. I love the beef ribs, spare ribs the baby back ribs….. all of the links….and the brisket is all fire. I highly recommend that u come here if are feeling like enjoying some of the most amazing barbecue u could imagine. This is definitely going to my go to spot for barbecue here in L.A. I don’t think any of the others can fade Avy’s.
