Stopped in for lunch while getting my car washed next door. Ordered the spare ribs, collard greens, and mac & cheese.

My brisket sandwich (ala carte) was 1/2 gristle. $17 got me a greasy, fatty, barely-edible sandwich. During a slow time of day (4 pm). Never going again. They don’t speak English and I doubt the meat ever saw a smoker.

Wonderful hole in the wall restaurant, great food, friendly service. Small and friendly, 2 tables and a dining counter so if you have a large get together you need to order to go.

Today is 7/04/23, the 4th of July and I went to Avy’s Ribs on Lincoln blvd. in Marina Del Rey for the second time. My first time was this past Memorial Day. My first visit the food was almost perfect, for me the potato salad was terrible, so Avy’s lost points there. But, the beef brisket was perfectly tender the way I love it and the pork ribs would have been perfect had they not been cut so short after the ends were cut-off. Other than that they were nice and tender. Macaroni and cheese was OK, didn’t try the beans. All in all, I was pleased enough to go back today for the second time, but my experience was completely the opposite. The black cook that was there my first time no longer works there and the food was terrible. Both the beef brisket and the pork ribs were terrible; chewing them were like chewing shoe leather, very tough and chewy and I was given a small portion unlike my first time going there, but still charged $28.00, not worth it. I do not recommend going there now; I was very disappointed. I do not recommend Avy’s; I will never go there again.

Stopped in for lunch because I was driving by. Had a beef brisket sandwich, Mac n cheese, and collard greens. Everything was really good and reasonably priced. The dude working the counter was really friendly and cool. Pretty much everything you’d want out of a little barbecue joint. Will definitely be going back and recommending to my friends.

Best brisket in marina del Rey. Just they need to be more careful with the amounts they serve.

This spot. OMG. This is hands down the absolute best barbecue spot. I love the beef ribs, spare ribs the baby back ribs….. all of the links….and the brisket is all fire. I highly recommend that u come here if are feeling like enjoying some of the most amazing barbecue u could imagine. This is definitely going to my go to spot for barbecue here in L.A. I don’t think any of the others can fade Avy’s.

OMG, one of the absolute best BBQ places I’ve ever had from Los Angeles. I’ve eaten at the majority of BBQ places in Los Angeles and I’m telling you no one is topping these fall off the bone ribs and the bbq sauce is top tier. But not only is the meat the best the sides are also. I got the Mac and cheese and baked beans and let me tell you 90% of BBQ places in LA uses canned beans but this place is handmade beans. Definitely will be back, definitely will be telling every soul that likes BBQ to support this business

My first time here and I got the baby back pork ribs and they were just perfect! The owner is very nice and very friendly. The portions were spot on and I suggest you bring your appetite. Support small businesses including this place!
