Can’t believe after several years of driving by this place that I finally made it in here this past May and I’m glad I did. After only dining here once, told my wife that I could definitely come back here.

Cozy local-owned Mexican-American breakfast/lunch venue boasts some pretty good eats for both breakfast & lunch. Not sure if the meat is from frozen or fresh but the Good Morning burger I had was good and my wife had the Chilaquiles which she liked.

It’s difficult trying to get the whole family to get out for brunch mid-week during the school year and I myself as well since I work overnight and I usually come in a couple of hours early most nights and are in bed by 11am daily.

Great all-around menu with good food at still reasonable prices, clean & cozy dining area with friendly and welcoming service. A small business I will happily come back to and support.

Theirs something for everybody. I truly enjoyed my chicken avocado sandwich. It was a great portion size & kept me full. I also want to mention their salsas were spot on. My sandwich came with a chipotle sauce that paired perfectly.

I ordered chilaquiles according to the price of the menu, seems to be a good option. When I went to the checkout to make my payment, they asked me if I wanted to add more stuff (avocado, toppings, etc) and EVERYTHING is an additional cost so you are not paying what is in the menu. Whatever, the food was not the best, so many green salsa with a few tortilla chips, and not enough sour cream.
If you are coming from a long trip and you stop by Waukegan, this is not the place to get a good meal and some rest. They have the policy to eat in 35 minutes, same as a manufacturing plant. Sorry this was my experience and I do not recommend this place

Not a fancy place, it used to be called the Dog House many years ago. The family that owns it does a nice job with the Latin flare food wise. Very kind and respectful and attentive ownership. We were very comfortable. The food was good, and a good place just to have a conversation over an inexpensive meal.

If you are from out of town and love Mexican food do not walk but run here for breakfast.
We ordered the Chilaquiles with steak and green sauce. It was amazing. The spice from the green sauce was not overpowering but left a lingering tingle in the mouth.

The other dish was the Avocado Benedict. It was a nice simple dish.
If we come back to this area I would come back.

This place may not look like much on the outside but they sure do know how to cook. Their chilaquiles Verde is to die for. The best I’ve had in quite awhile. They have delicious horchata to. This places does get packed occasionally but they do a great job moving service along. It opens early and closes early so if you go be mindful of that. And if you go on the weekend expect there to be a wait. Great taste for great prices. But when they are packed they dont really pay attention to your order if you make changes. I’ll be back to try more on their menu.

Oh man, the chipotle chicken pannini was on point. And yay, I found a sweet potato french fry spot to go to now. Although a little crunchier for my taste, I’m still happy. The restaurant was not exactly what I was anticipating. It’s actually more of a breakfast and Mexican food spot. I will go back again though and try something different plus my s.p. fries. The dining area is small and it was hot, but I would still dine in there. (This was 4 years ago)

I can’t believe I haven’t been back to this place in so long. Any who, here’s another review:

Again, Oh Man! So yesterday I went here for the pannini I like, but actually ordered the wrong sandwich, it was still good. I finally tried the crepes, and I’ll have to say I personally don’t like crepes like I thought I would. Still good again, chocolate chip probably been better. But man oh man, I ordered my baby the chocolate chip pancakes and he tore them thangs up. I had just a bite and was like damn we gotta go back for more. Definitely giving my favorite breakfast spot out here a run for they money. And that’s what we did today. I checked out the menu to see what this lady was eating yesterday, it was there popular chilaquiles. I added onions, avocado and asada. Had it with the red sauce and I was thoroughly impressed! We’ll probably be back next week. Well worth every dime. Oh, one more thing, they are so freaking fast with your order. At minimum 10-15 minutes depending on how much you’re ordering.
