A local bakery that I visited during our recent visit to Brigantine. Not a sit down cafe. It has a large variety of baked goods and pastries and I bought quite a few of them for our large company of 9. The pastries look impressive and are of course best, when fresh.

I would recommend canoli and Sfogliatelle (only if you can get and eat them freshly baked – they are not as good when they are cold). The almond croissants and eclairs are not the best here in my opinion.

The staff was very friendly.

Every time I visit AC, I always make sure to pop over to Aversa’s in brigantine! It’s one of my favorite bakeries in existence. They have the best crumb cake and chocolate covered pretzels. I finally tried a sandwich and went with a chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella and bruschetta on freshly baked semolina seeded bread. Hit the fricken spot

Their pizza is great. I always have to bring some home to North Jersey. The buffalo chicken pizza is out of this world.

We ordered the silky cream cheese cake, tiramisu, and cream puffs. The cream puffs were the best out of what we ordered.

The baked goods are incredible. The best cookies and many other offerings. The bread is amazing. Their “bread sticks” are absolutely delicious. They also sell heros and Italian foods and goods. Very friendly staff. It’s waaay too easy to drop a hundred or more in here. I also buy breads and cookies and send them to a friend in Freeport NJ. That’s how good it is. Even good enough for me to spend $40 on Ubers back and forth. Yep …that good!!!!
UPDATE 09/15/23: While their baked goods are very good I was disgusted by someone who appeared to be the manager there. I was there 2x today with my service dog. I was paying for my purchase and the woman came out in front of many people in the store and said very loudly that I have to pick up my dog (which would have put it at counter level). I stated that it is a service dog and she stated ” Ok, but you have to pick it up”. I was a bit embarrassed that she said that in front of so many people but she should be way more embarrassed by making ignorant remarks to me and presenting herself like she has no knowledge of ADA laws !!!! This is disgusting. I will be filing a complaint with the ADA , and can only hope that she learns both the laws and some manners.

First time at Aversa’s. I was excited because it was busy which is usually a good sign. First the good. The pizza was not bad. The sauce and toppings were nice but the crust was just ok Next the bread (best thing we got). We got a sesame seed baguette which was crusty and delicious. Finally, the sweets. The cream puffs were pretty good and the moose cake was moist and had nice flavor. The Napoleon was stale and tasted like old refrigerator and the other chocolate cake we got also tasted old. We tossed both of them. I think if we got fresh pastries we would have had a much better experience. I know this happens at bakeries sometimes but the best bakeries make sure that they’re checking and rotating their products so they don’t sell their customers sub par products. I’ll give them another shot but if I have a similar experience I don’t think I’ll return.

First picture is a cake we received back in March. Second picture is the cake I received today. I’ll let you be the judge and decide if you shoulder order a cake from here. Cause I know I never will again.

Great selection of pastries. Try their pizza for a walking snack. They premade sides also and a little Italian food section.

Sadly, they disappointed at the worst time. I ordered a cake, as family was coming over to remember our son on his first birthday since he passed from cancer in April. I asked for a cake with “Love and Miss You” written in the color of his favorite NFL team. Unfortunately, in spite of the fact that I ordered all of this in advance, when I picked the cake up they informed me that they did not have the right color and, in fact, only had pink, purple, red and yellow … for a boy’s cake. Once I told them to just go ahead and use yellow (didn’t hedge many other choices for a man’s cake), they girl wrote on the cake so sloppily and disrespectfully. For goodness sakes, the cake says love and miss you. It’s obvious a sad occasion. You would think there would be some heart … some compassion. Even the young lady working the cash register said she was embarrassed to sell me the cake. Awful experience and in such an important day The only reason I even have them any stars is because the cashier was so kind.
