Our server Maddie was absolutely amazing and the food was out of this world. I had the steak fried rice and a side of the brussel sprouts, they were the best I have ever had. My boyfriend has the poké stack, it was delicious. The boa buns were packed filled with delicious flavors. The shrimp and scallop sliders had a nice kick and the bread was very soft. We will be back for sure! We had 5 people in our party. We also had the calamari, spicy tuna roll and edamame to start.

My bestie and I had an excellent late dinner at 9:00 p.m. which was happy hour for this amazing restaurant. Where Dallas, our incredible waiter who was so knowledgeable and so friendly and so helpful even recommended drinks and mocktails which I enjoyed myself. We had the tuna nachos which are superb and the chowder which I also highly recommend. And if you want to have great service ask for Dallas on the top deck. But also downstairs they have happy hour all day Monday through Friday I believe. Highly recommend this place go and have a great experience!!

Five stars for Avanu in New Smyrna Beach! The food was incredible—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. And Isaiah, our server, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, warm, made the whole evening easy. Can’t wait to come back! Walking distance to the beach and filled with day and night entertainment along Flagler Avenue!

We just got home from a wonderful week in New Smyrna Beach and our first night a friend introduced us to Avanu. The atmosphere, food and service were amazing! We loved it so much we made it a daily stop during our stay. Anthony and McKenzie behind the bar, as well as the manager, were so welcoming, they treated us like regulars rather than tourists/vacationers. We can’t wait to go back!!

We spent the day at the beach and wanted to treat ourselves to some dinner before heading home. When we heard the music and saw the people from the rooftop, we decided Avanu would be a fun spot.
When you step inside, the beauty of this three floor restaurant is almost a little intimidating because it looks so upscale and stunning. Once you’re greeted by the hostess and brought to your table that feeling disappears immediately. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly, and fun. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and inviting.
The decor throughout the whole place is gorgeous, and every level has its own vibe. Downstairs feels romantic and perfect for a “fancy” date. We found out they do their happy hour ALL DAY, EVERY DAY downstairs, but we wanted to experience the fun of the rooftop bar. We took the stairs, but were given the option of the elevator which is a plus for when family and friends are in town with their baby strollers!
We chose to go BIG and get the lobster tail, cheesy risotto and brussel sprouts. It was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Our server was knowledgeable on all menu items, fun to chat with and gave great service all around. The general manager, Chris, not only stopped by to see how everything was, he held a great conversation with us, felt welcoming and surprisingly “chill” with how busy rooftop was.
After dinner, we decided to have some drinks at the upstairs bar. They were delicious and beautifully presented to us. These guys (and gals) know what they’re doing!
We were having a great time, ended up staying later than we originally planned, and were pleasantly surprised to find out they do late night happy hour upstairs! We had to try a few little bites… I decided on a tuna slider, an egg roll, and a half orders of nachos (which was bigger than I expected, but I’m not complaining)! The food was brought out fast and the teamwork with staff is fun to watch. They seemed happy to help us, laughing and having a good time, and work really well together.
On the way out, we asked about any weekend specials and Jillian told us about bottomless mimosas, several Bloody Mary options, and some interesting breakfast items for brunch! We’ll be back for that Shrimp and Grits Benedict!
If you’re on Flagler Ave or anywhere near New Smyrna Beach, this place is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great drinks, great people, and an amazing rooftop to get some fresh air and people watch!

Came here with friends when visiting New Smyrna beach and it was amazing!! We got raw oysters, Rockefeller oysters, the fish dish, edamame, and we ordered the surf & turf!!! Such great service and amazing food, also I recommend sitting up on the top level if you can!

Absolutely a fantastic place. Food is amazing and prepared with care. They have a very well created menu with gluten free options. The poke stacks, cod, sushi rolls and korean chicken sandwich are all amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and the rooftop area is fantastic. They have live entertainment and the wait staff are incredible. Our waitress Bri was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. She made some great recommendations for us! Thank you

As a local we love this place. We especially come for Ash. We love it when she’s working the bar.
Ash also Waitresses some days but, if you want a specialty drink she’s the one to go to she’s truly becoming a mixologist.

They move with purpose and grace; no frantic splashing, no shouting orders, no chaos. It’s like watching a well-rehearsed ballet behind the bar. Drinks come out fast, but never feel rushed. Every cocktail is balanced perfectly, garnishes are thoughtful and precise, and they actually listen when you describe what you’re in the mood for instead of just nodding and making the house special.
