I called Avalon’s to place a pickup order for pork fried rice. I picked up my order shortly before they closed.
When I checked my bag at home, I realized they had given me egg rolls instead of pork fried rice. I called Avalon’s the next day to let them know what happened and to request a refund.
Instead of listening, they insisted that I ordered what they gave me, said they had “verified the order” with me before I paid, and even claimed that I opened the packaging to look at it before leaving. None of that happened. They also told me that I would need to bring the incorrect food back in order to get a refund, which wasn’t reasonable given it was their mistake.
When I tried to explain, they talked over me, hung up on me twice, and did not listen to what I was saying. The way they handled the situation felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. I won’t be returning and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

It’s been years since we had Avalon’s. The food was good. Large servings. A little too much. Maybe offer a half size for half the price. $77 for 5 items. I’m glad I checked my items before I left because they didn’t include the sweet & sour chicken. Luckily I was able to get it because they were closed. Thank you for that.

Had the patty melt & the beef chow mein. Delish! They actually use sour dough for the melt, only other place I know that does that is Gordo’s. Best chow mein I’ve had in the SW. Little crowded but can’t complain went during busy lunch hours after the eclipse. Gonna come here again

Hands down the best Chinese food in Gallup. Authentic cuisine, prices are comparable to the serving size you get. The staff is courteous and friendly, excellent with refills. Food took a little more time than expected but it was busy and they have a large menu not just Chinese food. I would recommend the Chinese dishes, haven’t tried any others. You seat yourself and they do have Coke Products.

Was here today with my family and I Had the red chili enchilada but there was a bug in my chili and the waitress said that she couldn’t give a discount cause it wasn’t IN my food but on the plate. The beans that were served with the enchiladas tasted spoil and smelt spoiled. The Spanish rice tasted like sugar was mixed with it..was too sweet. Took home some Pork chow Mein home for my brother but he said that there was a ball of hair in his food so he didn’t finished it but ended up throwing it away. Never going back.

Portions are huge and food is cheap. Vendors kept coming by our table with trinkets which was strange.

Gets 4 out of 5 stars for the best enchilada I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant.

My husband and I ordered the enchilada plate. Beef and green chili. That didn’t taste good at all. It wasn’t spicy. It looked watery. With diced green chili. Just no flavor at all. The refried beans looked like clay. It looked gray. Far from looking brown. The Spanish rice was sweet. Which was like their rice pudding. I use to recommend this place. I don’t think I will anymore. Not worth the price either. Just a waste of money.
