We came here on Thursday evening in August before seeing a show at Ardmore Music Hall which is a couple miles down the road. We have been to the West Chester location a couple times and enjoyed it and tried to come here once before but ended up a the restaurant next door by accident. We paid attention to the signage this time.
We sat a the bar and were greeted immediately by the bartender. She got a couple drinks and then we orders happy hour mussels to share. We both got side salads and shared the chicken milanese. The food was very good as we expected.
The bartender was personable and attentive. We enjoyed being the interaction.
The atmosphere is casual and had an easy easy going vibe. It wasn’t too crowded so it was pretty quiet. This can easily be a place for drinks after work or a date night or like us, grabbing dinner before a show.
I wish they would open a restaurant closer to us we don’t mind making the drive every now and then.

The lemon chicken crab pasta was absolutely unreal!! You can tell real care went into this dish. Everything was delicious. On top of that, the service was great- attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Such a fantastic dinner from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I were on our way to the Ardmore Music Hall and randomly stopped here. From the outside, it look like a cool place and it had a decent crowd inside. I was a little skeptical when we were told they were busier than expected and slightly understaffed. To our surprise, they did an awesome job and our food was delicious. I had the chicken and crab in piccata sauce. chefs kiss I who’s I had an after picture of my plate totally clean. My wife had what was arguably the best Espresso martini we have ever had. Next time we are in the area, Avalon is definitely our spot!!

The cuisine was exceptional, perhaps featuring the best bacon-wrapped dates. However, my rating falls slightly below a 4 due to an unfortunate electrical outage during our dinner, accompanied by a blaring fire alarm. The overall atmosphere was negatively impacted, exacerbated by the cold temperature resulting from the heating system malfunction. Regrettably, no discount was extended despite these issues. The waitress, although pleasant, appeared distressed. Despite these setbacks, I would still recommend the establishment for its culinary delights and hope for a more uneventful experience on a future visit.

Joe, our waiter, was curt all evening. He
didn’t seem to put our drink orders in on time and with that we saw the bartenders would just be standing completing tasks and not making our drinks for many minutes until he would come over, have them make the drinks quickly and bring them over. This happened twice, the second was just a glass of wine that needed to be poured and I didn’t get it till halfway through my entree.
Don’t sit in last high-top booth across the from the bar unless you want a spot light beaming down on your face.

Really enjoy this restaurant. Nice vibe and good service. Started with the whipped feta app, which was good. Really liked the penne vodka and the milanese. Very nice drinks as well. Definitely worth checking this place out.

John, the owner has two bumper stickers in his office at Avalon that read “This is America, when ordering speak English” and “I am mad as hell I want my country back” See the photos attached.
I have also heard him yell at his employees and speak disrespectfully to customers, which is unacceptable.
