The braised brisket sandwich. Tasted like a piece of fatty flavorless pot roast. My entire bottom bun was wet ,soggy and inedible. The blueberry slaw on it was surprisingly flavorless as well. It didn’t taste sweet at all. The Fried chicken sandwich came out extremely hot. Waited for it to cool before could eat. The outside was flavored well and very crispy thick battered. It crumbles off extremely easy with every bite though. Leaving you with a over dried piece of chicken. Also the chow chow on the chicken sandwich tasted yucky and out of place. The burger was a burger. The BLT was ok. The shrimp and grits upset my friends stomach. She was in th bathroom for over ten minutes before we left and didn’t finish or take home the rest of her meal. The atmosphere is great the staff were friendly.
The Classic Egg Benedict was delicious! We ordered a couple of the Local platters. The espresso & strawberry mimosas were good.
The seating is cozy & the staff was welcoming. We had a reservation for 11:30am for 6 people. We didn’t realize the time & got there 45 minutes early (never happens lol) but the hostess was able to accommodate us which was great. I do recommend making a reservation because by 12:30 there were definitely more people.
There’s a full bar inside & outdoor seating available which is nice because you have a view of the mountains. Parking is a little tricky because they’re fixing one of the sidewalks on the side streets but there is street parking in front.
Overall, we had a good time & service was good. Our waiter was nice & answered any of our questions.
The service is generally friendly, though it can get a bit slow when things are busy. I always try to stop in when they have a salmon special—it’s delicious and honestly deserves a permanent spot on the menu! That said, I’ve found some of the other food items to be hit-or-miss in terms of preparation (undercooked), quality and flavor.
I’m glad this place does well—it really feels like a community staple! I also appreciate that it’s one of the few spots in town with a proper patio. One highlight this year was their Galentine’s Day event, which I enjoyed with a group of girlfriends. Despite the hectic evening and multiple rounds of staggered drink orders, the service was absolutely on point!
Overall, Autumn is a solid choice whether you’re grabbing cocktails, enjoying a night out, or looking for a local favorite with a great vibe!
