Nice small venue for hanging after hours w/ with dj some nights but three strikes with the food …that never seems freshly made.
First visit my suya was put in the microwave when I ordered it… right in my face!! I was so shocked. It were terrible.
Second visit late eve to hang and dance… had fried turkey tails, they seemed good that time but i was drinking a lil beforehand so i really dont know. I also tried their potato leaf stew , I wanted to return that, the meat was tough, stew was dry and flavorless.
I did visit one more time beause I couldn’t find turkey tails in any nearby grocery store to cook myself so I ordered some of thiers again and this time they did not taste fresh at all , i trashed them and i dont like to waste food.
I will not be eating there again unless they do a major revamp cause it’s just not good business to serve people anything but your best , imo.
Sucks because I was hoping for a good african restaurant here in gtown but this place does not seem to care about anything but ringing you up to make a buck. Hope they can prove me wrong soon, restaurants don’t last long with this type of behavior

I visited this restaurant yesterday, and it was my second time there. I had previously shared my positive experience with a friend, highlighting how good the food was the first time I visited. On my first visit, I enjoyed the stew fish with jollof rice, although I found it a bit unusual that they used a microwave for some of the food. I generally prefer meals to be made fresh to order, particularly when it comes to fish.
However, my experience yesterday was disappointing. I had the fish and stew with jollof rice and plantain, along with peanut soup featuring goat meat and white rice. My friend ordered okra and pepper stew with pounded yam. Unfortunately, the fish was quite dry and had an overpowering fishy flavor, while the plantain was also hard. The jollof rice lacked flavor, and the stew resembled spaghetti sauce more than what I would expect from a traditional stew, especially given the price. The portion sizes seemed small, with only two scoops of rice and a single scoop of stew, and my fish was served without any sauce.
Additionally, the peanut stew was quite watery, and the goat meat was tough and chewy. The okra appeared to be past its prime, as I noticed some sticks and vines mixed in, and the pounded yam had visible chunks that needed more thorough preparation.
I was genuinely looking forward to a great meal, so this visit left me feeling quite dissatisfied. I think there’s potential for improvement in both the quality and presentation of the food. I would recommend the restaurant focus on enhancing the freshness and flavor of their dishes to better meet customer expectations. At this point, I hesitate to recommend it to others based on my recent experience.

This was a great experience! We were immediately greeted and welcomed. The music was a nice touch and we were able to enjoy a few shows. Our waitress was Josephine and she was kind and friendly, she always checked in to make sure our food was good and if we wanted anything else. The drinks were also amazing. They make a ginger drink with fresh ginger which was strong and bold. It made me feel like my immune system was … . There was also sobolo which had a deep powerful flavor. My favorite was their hibiscus lemonade which was not as strong but had a great flavor. All of their food was outstanding. I enjoyed their peanut butter soup and rice balls. The flavor was great and warmed me up. It felt like I was back in Ghana. This was a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!

I visited this place for the 1st time yesterday with a freind. Im A foodie And an American I feel as if they took me for a fool. I ordered what I thought was the best fish on the menu ( for me) Red Snapper, jolloff rice, and plantains. 30+ dollars and drink their drink made by them.My freind ordered tilapia which was about 8 dollars cheper than my own snapper. My fish was horrible! Dry, no crunch on the tail, old, stale fish in which was the most expensive fish on the menu. I confronted the situation and she said “sorry”. With that being said Poor customer service!Because if anything she could’ve offered my money back or offered one of their snacks (peanuts). I Will Never Go Back! Im really not a person that does reveiws but I felt violated Better Word I felt Scammed! Not only did I eat their to support the establishment I ordered their ginger drink Again,to support the establishment.
Total Bill 71.00 Experiece Priceless!

I would post picture of my food, but it was embarrassing how fast I ate it- man that peanut soup with beef was soo good! So glad I came after the gym. Super tasty and delicious. Amazing, hospitable team! So accommodating! I did carry out, but if I had time I would have dined in. The restaurant was very cute! Lovely decor, big bar! Definitely coming back with friends!

I went here last night and they had a buffet set up. I assumed everything would be held at a safe temp and thereby ready to go. So I selected what I wanted, they put it in a plastic to-go container and then placed said container into the microwave. I told them that I no longer wanted the food and they were very kind and understanding. They still gave me the bean soup since that was held hot and fresh. I also got a ginger drink and really liked it. Next time, I would dine in to be able to try their fresh options. I just found it odd that they microwave food off of their buffet line and I would have liked to know that ahead of time.

I’ve ordered here about 10 times, either from uber eats or my husband going in grabbing it for me and I always love their food, however I did a uber eats tonight, I just opened it and my cassava portion is so small, and the rice portion is huge. Normally the portion size is good, but for the past two times it’s been small and the rice tastes like a day old. The cassava taste bomb I just wish I could cover my rice and fish.

I visited African Restaurant recently, and while the atmosphere was nice, I was disappointed by the food. The portions were small and expensive, and the food tasted a bit stale. For the price, I expected better quality. I’m not sure I’d go back.
