Always a favorite, “Large deluxe with extra peppers” but they have other pizza combinations that are sure to hit the spot! Small town business that’s been around as far back as I can remember. Small indoor dining area and also serves pick up orders as well as frozen pizzas unless they have changed. A well regarded establishment in Mcleansboro!

This was my first time eating here. It is a tiny family ran restaurant which I love. I’ve never seen pizza so loaded with toppings like this. Definitely good! The only thing I’d change is I wish they had pasta too but they do have sandwiches which I’d like to try next time!

Auten’s Pizza House has been in business for decades and it is a good mom and pop pizza place! We have to get pizza here when we visit our g-kids!!! We ordered 4 pizza’s and as usual they were all delicious! The people who work at this restaurant are very nice. Two of them helped me put everything in my car. Living about 30 minutes away, Auten’s is always a treat for my family who enjoys the pizza a whole lot so we try to stop when we are in the area. I can’t say enough great things about the pizza here. Our favorite, the All Meat pizza, is always piled high with all toppings, the food is always hot and delicious, and the price is absolutely unbeatable. We’ve had great service every time we visit..until our last visit. My last and final visit happened tonight, May 23rd with my boyfriend and our daughter.
We had my daughters volleyball game in Norris City, which ran over later than expected, but since we have planned to eat at Auten’s all week, we placed our DINE IN order over the phone on our way when we left Norris City right at 8pm. We verified over the phone that they closed at 9pm, and let them know that we would be dining in at 8:30pm when we arrived and that we would eat quickly and be on our way out.
We arrived at 8:30pm to an empty restaurant, and let the young girl that we had a call in order, picked a table, and sat down. My boyfriend joked with another young girl sitting in a booth on her phone, who rolled her eyes and stormed off into the kitchen. When the young girl brought out our cups and plates, she gently slammed them on the table and asked what we would like to drink. She dug to the back of the cooler and grabbed a cold RC that look like it had already been stocked for the night, which I appreciated. Not another word was said that night to any of us, by anyone.
Our food came out almost as soon as we sat down. All items were boxed up in pizza boxes, which was fine, since it was so late. My daughter even went and paid the bill right after our food came out so the register could be counted for the end of the night. The young girl that “waited” on us finished cleaning around us. We were being watched by both young girls and a young boy from the doorway of the kitchen until we took our last bites and boxed up all of our trash and stacked our cups to be thrown away.
We finished up right at 9pm when they closed. My boyfriend said “thank you” and waved to them as they stood in the door way and the only thing he received was a blank stare from them all. As I exited, I said “have a nice night” and got no response, and only got looked at like a deer in headlights from all 3.
Leaving reviews is not something I ever do, but I can’t even describe how it felt to be treated like we were inconvenience to every single worker tonight. If you didn’t want customers after 8:30pm, then you should close at 8:30pm.
I hope that no one experiences the service we received tonight. I work in the food industry and could never treat anyone the way my family was treated this evening. I hope these young kids find a better attitude during their next shift.
