AuRants. What can I say…oh I don’t know..EVERYTHING! Voted BEST RESTAURANT in the Diamond City in 2016, Chef/Owner Dave Ciminelli has a unique and wide ranged menu with exotic ingredients that you can’t get anywhere else in NEPA. AuRants is a Gastropub that’s Separate from the Rest.
I’ve been there a few times and each time gets better and better. The food is outta this world…Some honorable mentions include:
Kielbasa Kabobs: cherrywood smoked bacon smothered in honey jalapeño remoulade. These are a crowd favorite and are usually always on the menu. Oyster Mushroom Trifolati: meaty,hearty, and yummy a simple but effective Mushroom plate prepared by sautéing oyster Mushroom segments in extra virgin olive oil with garlic, stewed onion, parsley, and covered in Grana Padano cheese. My personal favorite: Seitan Cheesesteak: Seitan is a wheat gluten with the consistency of meat. This dish comes with smoked Gouda, Seitan, onions, mushrooms and a side of your choice. Best Cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I’d also like to mention the desserts. Oh the desserts. Not only is Daves menu out of this world his fiancé Donna makes amazing, huge, delicious, monstrous cakes that are big enough to feed an army. Whether you live in NEPA or are a food traveler you have to visit AuRants in Duryea, PA. You will not be disappointed. They offer everything for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans! My daughter joined me on my outing to AuRants tonight… At first she had a hard time with how different the menu was, but after explaining some of the ingredients to her, she was happy to try new dishes. We loved the way the place was decorated with all the different styles of art on the walls.
The food was very expensive, but it is of the highest quality you can get around here… The chef really knows how to mix different flavor profiles and add different ingredients to ordinary dishes to make them extraordinary. We both shared some salmon tacos, a duck Gouda cheese steak, mac & Gouda cheese and fingerling potatoes. There wasn’t anything we didn’t love. My daughter ate more than I expected and I was still able to bring enough home for lunch. The wait staff was super friendly and efficient.
UNCLE GERRY’S TIP: If you are cost conscious my friends, try one of the sandwiches or tacos they are much more reasonably priced and both come with a choice of excellent sides. Their lunch menu is also a bit more reasonable.

The food was fantastic! Had the mushroom and leak soup, and the flavor was beyond any soup I have ever tasted. The stuffed mushrooms were very good, and the burnt pork butt was out of this world! These unexpected combinations of flavors were so unusual, and so good. The descriptions of the food on the menu made my mouth water. I really appreciate the effort of Chef Dave, who came out and introduced himself. You can really tell when someone has a passion for what they do by how they talk about the food they prepare. Really well done.

Amazing.. every experience here is absolutely amazing! I go about once a month and it’s an experience I always look forward to. The menu is constantly changing and always invites a new eating experience. The food is delicious and shout out to Danny, possibly the best waiter and mixologist I’ve ever had.

Amazing food! One of my favorite place to eat when in Duryea, PA. The bacon cake is amazing and so is the Mac and Cheese. Perfect place to take your date, but be sure to reserve a table because they are always busy… Amazing beer selection too, always changing draft beers.

I’ve eaten everywhere from the Bay Area, to NYC, to Cape Town and this restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever had. The service is great. The servers and bartenders are very knowledgeable. They have a great beer selection… GREAT BEER SELECTION. They love what they do.

The menu changes daily so it makes it hard to decide if you want to go back. The food is very expensive and small portions. Unless your into weird tasting things this place isn’t for you. I had shark with some sauce on it and where I will say the shark did not taste like shark at all, more like chicken, the sauce was very bitter. I ordered as my side broccoli and it looked more like spinach but was very very sour and crunchy. I don’t think I’d go back.

Stopped into the bar before a party for some cocktails and appetizers, good was great, drinks were pretty good and the staff was really friendly.
I would have given it 4 stars, but it’s cash only, and the drinks were alittle over priced for the area. If those things don’t bother you than it’s a good place to get a unique meal with great service.

Without a doubt one of the finest restaurants in northeast Pennsylvania. Caring and creative chef brings in Proteins from around the world It prepares them in a variety of ways. Sit at the bar and grab one of his extensive collection of beers and order a couple of side dishes or hit the dining room for an excellent dinner either way you can’t go wrong. If you love food you do not want to miss this place:-)
