As you walk in you are greeted by one of their staff and we are seated right away. It not a huge restaurant but it’s not small one either. You can smell the food as you walk in and it smells so good it makes you hungry even more.
The decor is beautiful. It has a glimpse of their culture shown in paintings. I loved looking at them. The place also looks clean and tidy.
For the food we ordered a couple of appetizers and main dishes to share. Love, loved the salt and pepper tofu. It’s a good starter, but don’t forget the sauce. We also ordered samosa’s which had good flavor inside and crispy on the outside.
For the main dishes we had: Spicy noodle with shrimp, Traditional Red Curry Chicken, and MayLika’s Fiery with tofu and beef. All these dishes had wonderful flavors and they did not skimp on the protein. Last but not least we shared a dessert. The Dubai Dessert Palatha. I’ve never had anything like it. Love the palatha and ice cream combination. We have to have that ice cream.
Note: the chicken in the Red curry was so tender and not dry (as chicken in curry’s tend to be dry at times).
The service was awesome. They kept our water cup filled. And we stayed to chat for a while after we ate and they didn’t rush us out.
Came around 11:30am, right before I guess the rush hour for lunch, which did actually get pretty busy, however, we were seated promptly and had a server taking our order in about 5 minutes.
Ordered the pumpkin shrimp, which was amazing, shrimp was bouncy and juicy, and it wasn’t overpowered by the pumpkin. Garlic noodles were a little different to other garlic noodles I’ve had from other places, but im assuming this is the Burmese way, they still were palatable though.
Coconut rice, eggplant, and Mango chicken were also great, oh and the chicken wings., oh the tea leaf salad was also good.
Ordered everything spicy, and I told them I didn’t want the extreme level, as I wanted to actually taste the food, but the level was actually very mild, definitely could have gone up a notch or two on spice level.
I ordered the Spicy Noodle, which was stir-fried with chicken, shrimp, mixed veggies, crushed peanuts, and a splash of lemon. It was gluten-free, which was a nice bonus. The flavors were on point—sweet, sour, spicy, and savory all came together really well. It was flavorful without being overwhelming. Definitely a dish I’d order again and recommend.
Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of the entire time.
