When hopped of our Hop-Off Hop-On bus tour at this stop, we were in search of lunch and hoping to find some place to grab something quick. When we walked into this restaurant we soon realized it was just the right place to accomplish our goal. The food was really good and the prices were good, too. The customer service was also really great and the beautiful decorations made for a wonderful atmosphere for lunch. My husband and I shared the noodles, crab Rangoon and pot stickers. Everything was ready quite quickly and everything was very tasty.

August Moon Chinese Restaurant is hands-down my favorite Chinese takeout spot in downtown Portland. I’ve ordered from here many times, and the quality is consistently excellent.
My go-to dishes are the chicken with cashew, string beans, and the cha sue ding — all are reliably fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The chicken is always tender, the vegetables have the perfect texture, and the sauces are well balanced (savory without being overly heavy or sweet).
Orders are prepared quickly, packaged well for takeout, and everything travels hot and intact. In a downtown area where consistency can be hit or miss, August Moon delivers every time.

My husband and I have been going here for years (him even much longer), and I realized after having a fabulous dinner there tonight that I was remiss in sharing a review.
If you appreciate a cozy Asian soup to warm your bones, this is a MUST go restaurant for their noodle soups. And if you like things on the spicy side you need to try the seafood noodle soup (although you can ask for them to make it mild, I would recommend you go all in). This soup is better than any ramen you will attempt to find in this city! Loaded with all kinds of goodies, a very tasty and complex broth and perfectly textured noodles.
It’s very hard to visit August Moon and try other things in the menu when the soup is our go-to dish, but I have and they are very delicious and have the regular favorites that you can get at most Chinese restaurants.
This place is a block away from the Keller, so it’s a popular pre-show restaurant- keep that in mind.
This really is a mom and pop restaurant because they are always there, making you feel at home whenever you step through the door.
So next time you are craving a bowl of warm deliciousness to comfort you, look no further than August Moon.

Good food for a good price. A friend and I got shrimp fried rice, vegetable egg rolls chicken curry, and orange chicken. Everything was delicious and our bill came out to $40.
Their water was lukewarm and no ice. Ice water would improve the experience.

For the introverted people, it’s quiet and nice! There was a specific type of food I was looking for and I found it here and it tastes the same so it was good!

Since they are close to the Keller, most of their traffic is from shows there. They are very aware of when the shows are and make sure you are served in time to get to the show on time. The prices are great and the food is delicious. Their egg drop soup cured my depression.
