My husband and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary there. 1st off my husband believed by one of the online pictures (probably photo shopped) that showed a cozy white table cloth candlelit environment which it was not.
The service was impeccable, the hot and sour soup was good, the crab wonton, couldn’t see or taste any crap. My husband ordered a Old Fashioned and obviously it was not one. I ordered the Pinot and it was nice.
We shared the magnolian chicken and it was different.
What made it all worth coming back was the service.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is great, true tableside service and friendly staff at a fair price. If you are a Detroit transplant and missing Almond Boneless Chicken their War Su Gai is the same thing and maybe even better. I wish I had found this place sooner. Looking forward to trying out the rest of their menu. This is what quality chinese/asian cuisine should be.

I’ve eaten here probably a dozen times or more over the years. It’s always in consideration whether its a special occasion or a Tuesday night. I’ve never had to wait for a table. The food and drink is always good. The service is great. The servers put more pressure on themselves than most patrons will. The atmosphere is quiet most of the time. Any noise may be slightly elevated if its a really busy night, but the clientele and environment is very tame. Overall its a great place and my wife always comes away pleased with her dining experience.

One of my very favorite places in Louisville to eat. I tried several entrees and apps, really liked them all. My favorite is chicken w/cashews but the fried rice is the best! Egg rolls, soups, and hot teas are excellent. If you like Oriental House, you should really like this place. Interior is more comfortable & unless I was visiting at 6-8pm on a Saturday, I never have a wait to be seated.

August Moon has been a family favorite of my Father & I at linnertime (a little after lunch, a lot before dinner;) for years!!! The food is always delicious—all time fav dishes: Grilled curry marinated shrimp salad with sweet chili basil vinaigrette, Shrimp Lomein, hot & sour soup. The restaurant, dining room & bar area are beautiful. And the staff — Yandi, Sebastian & Mimi are The Best! Thanks you all for so many years of delicious excellence and to many, many more ✨

I’ve had a good friend who’s been telling me about this place for a while, however, I went to a place I’ve been to for years which was closer. August moon stayed open an hour later than those other places, so that’s why we went there and to try it. The hot and sour soup was incredible! And both the dishes that we got were really amazing. In fact, I’m not a big fan of beef dishes when it comes to Chinese or Asian food. I prefer chicken dishes. However, I have to say the steak was tender and has lots of flavor which I have never gotten before at any other Asian cuisine place At that time we were dealing with the managing partner I believe. He was great! It made it a wonderful experience. Because of their unique dishes, the service, the ambience, and the quality we will definitely be back.

Grandson and myself visited the business. It was not really busy around 11:30 am. It took the staff 25 minutes to take our order. Do not know if the staff was on a break at that time. Finally was able to order and ask why we did not receive any of the noodles as the other customers. The staff stated it was for the meal they ordered. Monitoring the 25 minutes to order the other customers received those noodles as soon as they sat down. The staff never did ask if we would like a refill on the drinks either. I did leave a good tip since it is Christmas, but normally I would not have. Oh, yeah the food was just normal Asian food , nothing special.

We ordered the five spice Shrimp appetizer, hot and sour soup, Malaysian curry (chicken) and kung Pao chicken. All the dishes were delicious. We ordered extra spicy and they were spicy as well. A great Chinese restaurant if you are looking for good food. Ohh they are priced quite reasonably as well.

SO the duck gave my husband food poisoning. About two hours after eating said duck he began to violently vomit multiple times leading past midnight. Luckily I had stuck to more of a vegetarian meal and I think thats why I only got indigestion. The bar tender was kind and attentive. The woman who was handling front of house was also kind and talked to me like she’d known me for years. So no complaints on the staff from me. The atmosphere was weird though. They had a lady singing basically karaoke directly behind us and she was very nervous she was practically whispering. We also came from out of town and the regulars seemed to be mad we were at the bar as if they owned those seats or something. Very strange experience and I am very disappointed to have to leave this review.
