I was intrigued by a posting that popped up on my phone early on a Saturday morning. The pictures of the food looked so good. I awakened my son, and we got dressed. And set the GPS for Audrey’s! It did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried perfectly, and those waffles were as well. Not hard and dry as they can sometimes be. I took a picture and sent it to my husband, who placed an order to go. He ordered something unique; the waffle made from grits accompanied with shrmp. A new take on shrimp and grits. He said it was scrumptious. Will definitely try it again. Highly recommended!

We tried to do something different this year and have our thanksgiving meal catered!! My mom pre-ordered our Thanksgiving meal, 2 weeks in advance, and was supposed to pick up the food 11/27. Audrey called her and said she was only “working on the pie” and that if she picked up the next day 11/28 Thanksgiving morning they would fry the turkey that morning. She went to pick up the food yesterday morning (Thanksgiving) and the only thing ready was the turkey. They told her to come back at 12:30, she came back and still had to wait over an hour and they didn’t include the collard greens that she pre-ordered. My mom gets back to the house after 2:30pm and the macaroni, dressing and sweet potatoes has to be cooked!! The only thing that was good was the macaroni. The rest of the food was subpar especially for the price. The sweet potatoes tasted like butterscotch , the dark meat on the turkey tasted like soy sauce. We spent over $300 for this meal and they played in our face for thanksgiving. Never again!! Food is too expensive to mess over people’s money and take orders that you can’t handle.

I kicked my shoes off under the table. I love coming here because they make you feel at home. I love the good customer service and I even bought my spiritual Father and hus wife who is my best friend. They truly enjoyed the service and the meal. They are coming back. So come on down and get you a good cook home meal

Searching for Black Owned restaurants and happened upon this diamond. My 3 year old granddaughter and I ordered Shrimp & Grits, Cajun corn and sweet potatoes souffle. Hands down, the shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever eaten. The Cajun corn was spicy and good. The sweet potato souffle was better than any dessert I could have ordered.
I Will definitely be coming back and telling others.
Side note: I would enjoy hearing gospel or jazz while dinning…music has a way of elevating the experience

I called the restaurant and Ms. Audrey answered the telephone. I explained that I was visiting from Atlanta and the restaurant that I was going to eat at was closed. Someone in Hoover told me about her restaurant and I was calling to make sure they were open. We got to the restaurant and the atmosphere was pretty cool and we had the restaurant to ourselves. The food was freshly cooked and it was delicious . Ms. Audrey was so nice and welcoming, plus to told us to come back when we are visiting Birmingham in the future.

Fantastic menu, hospitable service and delicious food. Audrey’s was on my list to try for almost a year and I finally made it there. The decor is inviting and the people are as warm as a visit to my favorite Auntie’s house. Can’t wait to try more of the menu during my next visit.

The owner was very kind. The food was good. I went looking for collard greens. I was hoping for the serving line, but it is only offered on Sundays. I went on a weekday, so it took time for them to cook the food to order, but it was good.

Ordered a blackberry cobbler for my bride’s bday and it was superb! Audrey and staff greeted me at the door with a smile. Good home-style cooking!

My rating is based not by comparison but on my expectations, which were greatly exceeded. I ordered the pan grilled salmon fillet with macaroni and cheese and a mixed green salad. Everything was prepared perfectly. The salmon was crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The macaroni was just right and the mixed salad had a nice variety of vegetables. The service was friendly and efficient. It was 96 degrees outside and refreshingly cool inside.

You won’t get another
DIME from our family!
Food was ordered weeks
ago. Was supposed to
ready for pickup
yesterday. Took hours for
the order to be ready for
pickup today. Yall, the
Mac and cheese was RAW!
The dressing was RAW!
They blatantly sober sold
EVERYTHING! Ordered
collard greens, no collard
greens available!

This had to have been some kind of scam / money grab!
How can you justify a $300 bill for a fully cooked Thanksgiving meal for an entire family and you didn’t have items that were ordered weeks ago like collard greens? You didn’t COOK the Mac& cheese? You didn’t COOK the dressing? Imagine if we were in a situation where we weren’t able to cook the food ourselves? This is the most ridiculous display of “running a business” I’ve ever seen. These people have stolen our money and ruined our holiday! 3 generations under one roof trying to celebrate life and family and it was ruined because these people can’t conduct proper business.

In conclusion, don’t buy food from these people. I wouldn’t recommend buying a cold soda from this pathetic excuse of a restaurant.
