Be aware, this building is actually three different restaurants with three different menus. One is “family-style” with standard tables, booths, and kid/budget friendly menu items. The second (middle) is fine dining, with linens, wine glasses, and top-shelf menu items. The third is a bar/lounge area with typical pub fare.
For fine dining, the stuffed white fish is a must. I also recommend the soup of the day (cream of mushroom on my visit, but I heard the clam chowder on Fridays is the best).
Lots of taxidermy on display – most all are trophies of the owner’s family. Plenty of authentic Native American items mounted as well. The place is essentially a museum.
Staff is friendly and down-to-earth. The food is outstanding, and the prices are fair for what you receive. Worth every penny.
Id highly recommend their Crabcake from the appetizer menu and Parmesan crust Whitefish the main menu.
Their crab cakes are definitely unique IMO, they were lightly fried and served in a shrimp based sauce.
Parmesan crust Whitefish was just perfectly made. One can also get different seasoning for the whitefish.
Everything was quickly served to us within 15 mins of ordering.
I was traveling through Mackinaw City at the beginning of December and stayed overnight nearby. The next morning, I went searching for a solid breakfast spot—and Audie’s popped up on my radar. I’m glad it did!
I arrived right when they opened, and thanks to the snowstorm the night before, I was the only customer there at first. The staff still greeted me warmly, got me a hot cup of coffee and water, and let me take my time with the menu. There were so many delicious-sounding options. The waitstaff even offered suggestions and explained some of the popular dishes, which really helped.
After some heavy internal debate (and a growling stomach), I went with the three-egg mushroom and cheddar omelette, added bacon, hash browns on the side, and opted for toast with their homemade jelly.
While waiting, more customers trickled in, and the staff were just as welcoming to them as they were to me. The dining area was very clean—no odd smells, no clutter. The taxidermy on the walls, along with photos of the Mackinac Bridge being built, added a great “Up North” charm. Since I had the place to myself for a moment, I walked around and took a few pictures of the displays.
When the food arrived, the omelette was huge—perfect for someone about to start a long drive from Mackinaw City to Maryland. And the taste? Absolutely fantastic. I devoured the entire thing. The coffee was on point (got a to-go cup!), and that homemade jelly on the toast… chef’s kiss.
For anyone passing through Mackinaw City, Audie’s is definitely worth a breakfast stop. I know it’ll be a guaranteed visit for me on my next trip through the area. Hands down—great food, great service, great experience.
Based on that alone I would call ahead and make sure they arent doing work on the resturant as you eat if you have an autistic/SN family member.
The mimosas were great and biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen.
We have been to dinner side a few months ago and it was absolutely perfect.
Would revisit again.
Ordered a bison burger, onion rings, crab cakes, Parmesan encrusted Cajun whitefish, sweet potato fries, added a side Caesar salad and side romaine wedge salad. $70.21
They do charge 3% to use CC here. They wouldn’t let me use my Amex card. So I can’t use my card of choice and they still charged me 3%z
The crab cakes are crispy and quite tasty. They aren’t big, but enough for a starter.
My husband didn’t want the Caesar he ordered and so I ended up eating the Caesar and he ate the wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing and the Caesar dressing are both good. Both salads have tomatoes and carrots.
The onion rings are so-so, not so warm. Not super crunchy.
The sweet potato fries are thin, but good.
The whitefish Parmesan encrusted is decent, just keep an eye out for small bones and some skin left on the filet. The Parmesan encrusted seasoning is good. I let the staff know about the bones in the fish. They told us the fish come pre-boned, but they missed it. No kidding.
The bison burger was good.
Food: we ordered prawns , grilled chicken Parmesan pasta, chicken
Overall it was great and tasty.
Our waiter was great. We reached the restaurant little around 9:30 and their closing time is 10 PM but they made sure we are served well and patiently served us food and waited for us.
Definitely visiting next time when I am in mackinaw city. It was walkable from our hotel also.
Highly recommended.
I had the pleasure of dining at Audie’s Restaurant during my visit to Mackinaw City, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.
The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was prepared to perfection. We started with the fresh, flavorful salad, followed by a creamy and rich Alfredo pasta that was a true delight. The fried fish was another highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. We also tried their French toast, which was wonderfully fluffy and perfectly golden, a great option for anyone craving comfort food.
The dessert was the cherry on top, with their homemade pies being the perfect sweet end to a great meal. The service was quick without feeling rushed, and the entire experience was well worth every penny.
If you’re in Mackinaw City, I highly recommend Audie’s Restaurant for a memorable dining experience. Excellent food, great service, and a charming ambiance—definitely deserving of 5 stars!
