Auburn Tavern in Auburn, NH for a few pints & a burger. I’ve been driving by this place for a year now since I moved closer to the seacoast, but had never stopped in. In a attempt to save money for the holidays I have been hitting some local places closer to home & Auburn Tavern was fifteen minutes away so it was a perfect destination. These guys are open seven days a week & have a menu that seemed to be designed around Greek & American offerings for the most part. My expectations were low for the tap list here, I figured it would be the bare minimum usual suspects, but I was surprised to find a couple beers I hadn’t had including their house amber ale. They had some local favorites on draft as well including WINNI ALE from 603 Brewing & the IPA from Great North Aleworks, let’s get into what I drank though. ☘ ❄
My first pint was the BATTLE AXE IPA from Kelsen Brewing Company, it’s a New Hampshire staple & I’m always happy to toss one back when I see it on draft. For the second pint I scooped a pour of the house beer called COME TO PAPA AMBER ALE from Berkshire Brewing Company. This was a excellent red ale that was super drinkable, refreshing & malty. The WINTER WHITE ALE from Samuel Adams was my final pint & another beer I hadn’t had yet. It was a delicious white ale & was full of citrus with hints of nutmeg & cinnamon. ☘❄❄
I grabbed the Triple “B” Bacon Bleu Burger with fries for my lunch. It was pretty much what I expected from a burger here, definitely a good average burger for the price, but nothing I’ll dream about eating again. The bartender was working the bar, lounge & dining room by herself & covering that much area can sometimes take away from the service, but she still did a great job. Theres all the seating options here including tables, hightops & a decently large bar. Cool spot to check out & the red ale house beer is worth having for sure, cheers! ☘❄✌♥️

The wait staff was wonderful. The menu how did great selection. I ordered two chicken kabobs with rice pilaf and salad, it was delicious. The rest of my party got salads with chicken and enjoyed it very much. We will return!

When we went to check in the hostess possible manager told us an hour and a half wait. We still put our names in and went walking down to Iron Gate, where service was impeccable and as we take our first sips, we got a text that our table was ready! So we chugged our drinks and walked back to the restaurant. We waited too long for drinks and dinner but the server was super nice about the whole thing. When we did get our food, the server apologized and said that they were out of a few things. My husband ordered a gyro bowl and got the lamb chops. What we got was a bowl that was missing the rice and feta. I got some chops thrown on a plate with a small chunk of feta and a pepperochini. It looked like to me that there was NO head chef in the kitchen and everybody else didn’t give a damn. We will not be going back. I hope they open the Auburn Cafe in Ecorse again. In that place there was great food and great service. Also our food came out cold

The lemon chicken rice soup was very good. The turkey wrap was all dark meat. I prefer white. It was dry and could have benefited from a side of gravy. My fries were super salty. My husband’s steak tips were meh. The server was very friendly.

I love eating and love eating good food,
We got there bar smelled of bad odor we sat in dining area by ourselves, we ordered nachos for appetizer, I usually wait before ordering lunch but waitress was above our heads every minute, so we ordered I got grape leaves and my friend ordered scallop pie.
Wish I never ordered, nachos were so bad that I didn’t want to eat my lunch, but I did suffer and swallowed one
All our food was bad not cooked or over cooked and let me tell you there was something in that grape leave that didn’t taste Ike groundbeef. We told waitress she didn’t seem to care nor did she offer to talk to my manager and see what we could nope none of that and I’ll never visit again.
Not even a sorry, exact words chef is having a bad day I guess. So if chef is having a terrible day what he/she be serving.
She didn’t care about her job nor what she served her customers. Bad waitress bad food bad place.

The food was so good! I had the turkey dinner and my mom had the baked seafood casserole. Then we split the carrot cake. It was worth the stop! I wish I could remember our waitress’s name. She was amazing!
