Reviews
Some dishes stood out: the edamame was unexpectedly refined, the hotate nigiri clean and elegant, and the black cod rich and very enjoyable. However, the experience lost momentum as the meal progressed. The rolls felt conventional for this level, and the fish carpaccio, while pleasant, was sliced so thin it lacked substance. The smoked sturgeon, in my personal taste, overwhelmed the meal rather than enhancing it.
At €250 for two, the value simply did not align with the experience. In this price range, I expect moments of true distinction. With several nearby sushi restaurants delivering more memorable cuisine at significantly lower prices, this meal felt more acceptable than exceptional.
A beautiful room and strong service, but for me, not the “wow” a luxury price point demands.
Our night was elevated by the incredible service. Bruno, the bartender, was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. He mixed up some of the best cocktails we’ve had in Lisbon, and we loved his recommendations. Mario, our server, was attentive and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, offering great insights into the dishes and making sure we felt well taken care of throughout the night. It’s rare to find service this personal and professional, and these gentlemen really made the night memorable.
As for the food, Chef Miguel truly knows his craft. We started with a 7-piece Nigiri selection that was absolutely pristine—the fish was fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and each bite a celebration of flavor. The spicy edamame was another standout, with just the right balance of heat that left us craving more.
For the mains, we were treated to some truly exceptional dishes. The Wagyu beef ribeye was nothing short of sublime—cooked to perfection, tender, and rich in flavor. The Wagyu tartare with truffle was an indulgent delight, the truffle adding a luxurious depth that complemented the raw, melt-in-your-mouth beef. We also ordered a side of green bean tempura, which was crisp, light, and a perfect contrast to the richness of the meats.
To top off an already incredible meal, Chef Miguel surprised us with a fabulous tray of assorted mochi for dessert. The flavors were absolutely fantastic—each piece was delicate, chewy, and bursting with sweetness. It was the perfect end to an unforgettable experience.
Chef Miguel and the team at Attiko have crafted a menu that balances creativity with tradition, and it’s clear they are passionate about using top-quality ingredients. Each dish was executed flawlessly, and the flavors were bold and memorable.
If you’re in Lisbon and looking for a place that offers exceptional food, top-tier service, and a fantastic atmosphere, Attiko at ME Hotel should be on your radar. We left feeling completely satisfied, and we can’t wait for our next visit – which will be tomorrow night. 🙂
Unfortunately, the next day three out of four people in our group felt unwell with symptomsof a stomachbug. We can’t say for certain what caused it, but it did affect our overall impression.
Also, all dishes were served to share; while this worked at times, we would have appreciated the option of individual plates.
Mixed feelings
Kudos for all the team that sacrificed their new year’s eve to take care of ours
We had a group of 6 people celebrating The New Year 2026. After that 6 people got food poisoning (all with the same symptoms – vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain). Some also got fever heat. I also read other recent reviews and see some other groups had food poisoning.
Besides that I want to mention bad organisation – they were forgetting to bring some meals that were in our menu constantly and we had to remind them many times the same things. One meal (soup) that was in the menu we paid for – they didn’t even bring. We decided just ignore that afterwards as there was no point of explaining them again.
When we were paying for drinks we found out that they included oysters in our bill even so we already paid for it. Apparently, when we told the waiter that they forgot to bring oysters from our menu – they just decided to interpret it as an extra order (basically we paid for the same oysters twice). In addition to that they didn’t give us any receipts (not even asked if we need one)
At the end, I’d like to mention some good things about this restaurant.
1) The live music band was absolutely superb. I didn’t expect such good performance, so I was pleasantly surprised. Kudos to this band.
2) Interior design is really good.
3) Staff personnel is friendly. The main problem is disorganisation, but that’s questions to the management, not to waiters.
Hope this comment will help bringing some positive changes to food quality and organisation.
I emailed the restaurant, as they ask guests to do in their public responses to similar reviews. I did not receive a reply.
I understand that situations like this can happen. However, the lack of follow-up was disappointing. I am sharing my experience so other guests are aware.
The dinner service was disorganized and poorly managed. We were forced into many shared dishes, including oysters and raw fish, without clear explanations or alternatives. The pacing and hygiene standards felt questionable.
Within hours, everyone in our group suffered from food poisoning symptoms. This was not an isolated case: after checking the reviews, we saw multiple other guests reporting food poisoning from the same period.
We contacted the restaurant to request their VAT number so we could file an official complaint. The number they provided was invalid and non-functional, which raises further concerns about transparency.
After several guests (including our group) left negative reviews mentioning food poisoning, the restaurant suddenly received a wave of 5-star reviews, which strongly appear fake and aimed at burying legitimate complaints.
This was not just disappointing — it was unsafe. Based on our experience and the similar reports from others, we cannot recommend this restaurant and believe authorities should look into its food safety practices
Apart from the great food, service and atmosphere the view & playlist is 10/10.
I had dinner on a sunday at around 9pm and only left when the restaurant was closing at 1am.
. It was serious enough that we had to cancel multiple plans that weekend with family who were only in town briefly, and whom we won’t be seeing again anytime soon. As of January 4, I’m still not fully recovered.
I’ve seen the restaurant reply to similar complaints by saying they use “fresh food,” but the volume of reports like this, and the fact that it happened to my group, suggests a clear food-safety failure. Something went wrong with handling or preparation, possibly involving raw or undercooked items. This is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this place.
The musicians were the only redeeming part of the night.
