Any place that has a pic of Jim Morrison on the wall is off to a good start with me. Food is good and the portions are huge. Great location on the main strip in Virginia Beach.

We had such a welcoming and friendly server, great home-made food and specials, even offered gluten free! (Thank you!) we went back a second day during our trip. Everyone was helpful and friendly even when they were busy. The restaurant is clean and bright with humor and the food was yummy! Thank you!

Nice new restaurant in the VB community. (May 2025 i think they said). Good waffles. Plenty of choices. Really enjoyed our breakfast. Great super friendly server.
With a couple of minor changes this place could be top choice. Gravy appears to be prepackaged and not homemade. Scrambled eggs may also be from a carton bersus fresh eggs due to the “cracked eggs” on menu for other egg options. Fried apples are also from a can with some extra cinnamon added for flavor. Despite the pre-preparedness of some items they were still very good.
Atmosphere is scored a bit low because its just 4 walls with some pics of music artist with no real tie in to a theme.
Would definitely recommend and will be going back this trip.

I’ve been searching for a breakfast spot near the oceanfront that’s clean, has a nice menu, and provides great service. Today, I found that in Atlantic Waffle Company! We were warmly greeted upon entering the building, and our server, Angel, was a complete joy. Our food came out fast and looked so delicious! Very well done! AWC could easily become my favorite breakfast restaurant at the oceanfront. We will dine here again!

I went here a few months ago and was disappointed with the food. I got fried shrimp and it tasted worse than the frozen ones from the grocery store. It was basically just straight breading with a tiny shrimp piece inside. I also got the French toast and was not impressed. The portion sizes were small and for the price it was not a good value.

I appreciate the offer for the French toast. Unfortunately, this unprofessional, petty, and immature response has deterred me from ever wanting to step foot in this establishment again.
To clarify the timing: I write reviews when I have the time to reflect on my experiences, regardless of the season. When I decide to post the review does not discredit the legitimacy of the review.
Whether I was one of 4 shrimp orders or 1,000 French toast orders, my experience is still valid. And just because the other 1000+ customers did not complain about it, it does not mean they enjoyed it. They may fear a snarky response from the owner or that someone might spit in their cup. You just never know.
Since you checked the data, it’s even more disappointing to hear that you knew the shrimp was ‘frozen grocery store’ quality while serving it. It’s NOT unreasonable for a customer to think that a restaurant a block away from the beach would serve DECENT quality shrimp. It does not have to be fresh from the sea, but the lowest quality possible shrimp is a reflection of this company.
If you are a breakfast place that focuses on breakfast dishes, you should not be selling customers below Walmart quality frozen food for $14+. Also, if you value my opinion, you would not be trying to discredit it by saying that it’s suspicious. I came here in September, wasted my money on a subpar meal with my friend, and did indeed have the French toast that looked like the great value .50cent bread loaf from Walmart with maybe 3 strawberries and some pitiful whipped cream for $11. Also, I don’t think there was any vanilla or flavoring added to the French toast because it was super bland.
I’d suggest that you learn from feedback and strive to do better. Thanks so much! 🙂

Went here Sunday around 11 am, no wait time though it was decently full inside. Quickly served right after being seated and the waitress was very friendly.
I ordered the Steak and eggs (7/10), my steak was pretty good; cooked medium like I asked and decently seasoned, the home fries were decent, but the eggs had absolutely no flavor at all. I did get to taste their Western omelette and that was very flavorful and yummy, so sucks that my side of eggs weren’t seasoned at all. I also ordered two mini Belgian waffles on the side (8/10).
I think that my food and experience overall were decent, I can see myself going back one day.
My overall rate of experience : 7.5/10

While visiting our son in VB we tried Atlantic Waffle Conpany. Great experience!! The food was excellent!! The maple bacon waffle with candied pecans was delicious!! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. They even offered coffee or tea to go. Great breakfast spot. We will definitely be back!

Our server was Jessie and she was amazing! Very attentive and down to earth! We had five people and we never needed to ask for refills or hot sauce, etc! 10/10 recommend

I am currently in here eating with my husband and am completely in AWE of this place. From the vibe, to the decor, to the food, to the speed of service. EVERY single staff person has a GENUINE smile on their face. Everyone is working together and serving the entire restaurant as a whole. As someone who has spent over 25 years in the restaurant industry, it’s BEAUTIFUL when you get to witness actual teamwork and genuine love and care for the guest. Food was hot and amazing as well…the cherry on top !!

Atlantic Waffle Company is a gem for anyone who loves waffles, whether you prefer them sweet, savory, or over the top decadent. Located just off the boardwalk on Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach, this modern and beautifully designed restaurant is bright, clean, and inviting, perfect for a morning treat by the ocean.
They’re only open from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so it’s definitely a breakfast and brunch destination, but one that’s well worth planning your day around. The menu focuses on waffles (naturally), where they offer a wide variety of toppings and combinations to customize your own creation.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of being served by Lexi G., who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She worked with me to build what turned out to be my ideal dessert waffle: a fluffy Belgian waffle loaded with three scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled in rich chocolate syrup, and topped off with chocolate chips and shaved coconut. It was indulgent, delicious, and absolutely hit the spot. Huge thanks to Lexi for the great service and for helping make it perfect!
