If you are in Virginia Highlands Akins park is a must-do dinner place and a VaHi staple! They have a bar side of the restaurant and then a seating area too! If you are stopping by for dinner I highly recommend the Chicken Penne Pasta; they have mastered the flavors within the pasta sauce (it has a little kick so beware). I also highly recommend the Stake Frites if you want a classic! Overall the restaurant has a very chill and local vibe and the service is always top tier! Definitely stop by if you are in VaHi and are looking for a slightly upscale but still classic dinner location!

This place was great! We actually met our server while almost getting hit by a truck on the street( this is true).
Once seated, service was friendly and fast,and the food was fantastic! The entire staff worked very well and efficiently together, and I look forward to making them a staple on my visits to 5 Points! For the younger crowd, the bar side is crazy fun! (My friend used to take me there in our 20s, I wish I’d known how great the food was then.)

Wanted a late night bite to eat. The bar area was PACKED with only 2 ppl seated in the back at a table. So I’ll assume ppl are there more for the drinks than food. Seated ourselves. We’re greeted in a few minutes. Waiter was cool, friendly and upbeat. Order burgers that came out fast, hot and on point! Overall good experience!

This is a great pub to stop in for some late night food. We really enjoy the chicken wings and quesadilla. Staff is friendly and courteous. My wife and I will often visit this venue later in the night after listening to some blues music down the street. The bar can be quite busy at this time (after 9pm), however the restaurant is usually pretty easy to get a seat. All in all, I’d definitely recommend this tavern.

We ordered two Bloody Marys to start — my fiancé’s was fine, but mine tasted rotten. I took one sip and almost threw up. I sent it back and ordered a pomegranate vodka fizz instead, which was just okay. Even the water tasted off — so bad that I ended up sipping my cocktail instead of drinking water.
The Brussels sprouts were good but needed salt, and by the time we finally got some, they were cold. My fiancé’s eggs Benedict was bland even after adding salt and pepper. The fried chicken plate looked nice, but the flavor was just average.
Service was extremely slow. Our waitress seemed distracted, and another waitress actually ended up bringing us basic items like small plates, silverware, extra gravy, and salt and pepper. The Coke we ordered didn’t arrive until we were finishing our meal, so we just took it to go.
To top it off, my stomach felt terrible on the way home. Overall, a really disappointing experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Visited Atkins Park and had a great experience. The staff was prompt and friendly, making the visit enjoyable from the start. I tried the Chicken and Dumplings, which was rich and full of flavor. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, giving off classic neighborhood bar and pub vibes. I will definitely be returning.

Always fun! I have only been here for drinks, but last night we sat in Kylie’s section for dinner. We had a great time and the food was pretty good! I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but we were really impressed!
