Last night 02/24 we came in after work as usual before going back home to the north end. I didn’t realize until we left after dining in, they had charged me extra for a medium sized drink.
Usually I’d let it go, but after being hung up on when I called to explain I couldn’t come back at 9:30pm and only being offered a drink and not a refund was mind blowing!
I didn’t need the extra drink, we ordered a drink with the meal, I wanted a refund and was able to stop in the next day but wasn’t even able to get that out to the kid on the phone before he hung up on me after I told him about 3 times, I would just like a refund for the drink, I already ate and can’t come back today. then click. We’ve given this place business for 3 years now. We will not be returning because of this.
Not okay to take money from people, then not offer it back and only offer a drink we didn’t need or want.
We left the place about 8:35 and didn’t make it home until about 9:10 with traffic.
My rolled chicken tacos were full of chunks of chicken and topped with plenty of cheese, guacamole and lettuce. The green sauce was tasty with them. I love spicy but wasn’t totally down with the flavor of the red sauce. But that being said it seemed traditional because I have tasted that same flavor at other taco shops. You may love the red I perfered the green or cholula etc. The Carne Asada taco was a good size and the steak had good spices. The burritos were shareable since they were pretty big but I know my son and husband could probably finish one. Afterwards they may complain about being too full. Overall place had good service, good prices, and good food. I would go back.
However, the drive-thru service was not very good. The guy on the headset spoke broken English and seemed to have trouble understanding it. That’s fine, but maybe don’t have him working the drive-thru speaker? But then, he acts like *you* are the jerk in the situation, grimacing out the window and throwing his hands up. I came prepared, having reviewed the menu before I went, so I wasn’t waffling. I had to repeat my order items multiple times for him to get them, though he did eventually get the 4 items I was trying order recorded correctly.
But then they still got it wrong. At the window, he asked whether I wanted red or green salsa, and I asked for 3 reds. I got 3 greens. It tasted good and was probably a better match for my food, anyway, so whatever. But they didn’t put my chocoflan in the bag at all. I was the only customer there, so there was really no excuse to mess up my order in any way.
I’ll probably get food from Atilano’s again, but I’ll have to try a different location. Disappointing, as this one is really close to my house. Maybe the newer one on Sprague is better.
Especially roomy and the menu was a breeze to navigate. Making selection from the vast menu simple.
Music was fun also!
Love love
Once i got back to my hotel i immediately rushed to the bathroom…
I’m still there. Suffering.
