We will definitely visit Athens Pho again. The restaurant offers a nice selection of traditional Vietnamese dishes. The pho soup is phenomenal, while the service, the atmosphere, and the prices are also great.

I’m telling you guys, this place is the best place ever to eat at. I chose here for my birthday, which is a good decision. We order some phở. Thinking is was decent, but nope, better than I expected. We ended up eating everything, vibe like real Vietnam restaurants, like the services from the server also. Best place to go to for best Vietnam-like restaurant and vibe.

Athens Pho is really the best compared to 1) just pho 2) mother pho and 3) previous owner crab hut.

Just Pho, the server didn’t bother when I didn’t have the chance to place an order or to pay. The wait staff was just chatting with friends.
MotherPho, the portions are insultingly small. I couldn’t justify spending $15 and not getting full.
Crab Hut (previous owner of the same location), it was a layer of oil AND they didn’t take the order right AND didn’t bring out utensil. Place was loud and floor was slippery. The owner of Crab Hut argued with me on Facebook saying I shouldn’t criticize her restaurant.

Finally! A pho place with a huge portion, good service, and tasty foods.

I ordered the large combination pho for $18.45 and boy was the portion huge. I ate all that I could and what I brought home is this giant tub of meat, see picture. I love that they didn’t save on meat AT ALL. Do you know with today’s beef prices, that meat in that broth alone is like, $6? I personally think, paying $18.45 when the material cost of the soup is already $9, is FANTASTIC. Soup is just flavorful enough and not oily. Not too much sugar and not too much salt. Everything was on point. Fast and attentive server. I have nothing to complain. I will be back again and again!!!
Lunch on Feb 10, 2026.

The Pho here is the best I have had. The broths are packed with so much flavor. ! The Thai tea was perfect too, not overwhelmingly sweet.

The foods have been consistently good. This time is exceptionally delicious. I have taste multiple different Vietnamese restaurants, but flavor here is more authentic. It’s worth an hour drive to Athens.

I came by twice in a week. The first visit was amazing!! I had the filet mignon pho and an order of crab rangoon and fried beef dumplings. Phenomenal! The service was good, everything was nice.
Brought a friend last night after raving about the service and food, and sadly, did not have a similar experience. The pho was warm, not very hot, and I ordered the chicken pho, which came with huge pieces of skin and cartilage and bones in the pho. It was gross. I chewed on some gristly fat and then the nice next bite was a piece of dark meat, wrapped around a decent sized bone that cracked between my teeth. Not good. Otherwise, service was very average this time, and the fried dumplings were very greasy this time.
I was excited to return and bring a friend, but we were both disappointed and will not be back for a while. I love Mother Pho, and will just go there.

This hidden gem has the best Vietnamese food i ever had in a while. This place just opened up 5 days ago, and we got the chance to come during the soft opening. The food is like my moms cooking, and it brings back memories. I highly recommend coming here to experience authentic Vietnamese food . The staff is extremely friendly and they also recommend dishes if you can’t decide. The staff are family members and take their time to cook the food with traditional values. This place is worth coming too and it’s not downtown near the college.

Really good pho. Huge portions for a good price. I got the large pho and I could barely finish it (I usually get a large when I go to pho places at pleasant hill or that area!) My wife got the fried chicken rice plate and she loved it. Banh mi could have used some more filling but it was still good. But the pho is really good. I’m glad to have a good pho spot on the East Side.

The Korean BBQ short ribs special isn’t always available, so order it when it’s available. The grilled pork is really good.

The interior isn’t fancy, but the fiod is great.
