Reviews
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a cozy slice of the neighborhood, look no further than Athens Restaurant. This family-owned Greek spot has been a little local treasure since 1992, and it’s still got that old-school charm that you just can’t fake.
Now, sure, it’s not some glitzy, five-star fine dining place, and that’s exactly what makes it special. The new management is doing their absolute best to keep up the authentic, simple, and very tasty Greek food we’ve loved for years. And hey, if there’s ever a hiccup, just talk to them—they’re super accommodating. No need to drop a bad review when a friendly chat will do.
All in all, Athens Restaurant is that kind of place where you walk in and feel like family, enjoy a hearty meal that hits the spot, and leave with a smile. They definitely deserve five stars in our book!
My kids grew up devouring your gyros, spaghetti dishes and Greek platters, and now as independent adults, we gathered here for a pre-movie feast before Superman at the nearby Aurora Cineplex. Pure magic: the vibe and flavors haven’t aged a day in 20-30+ years, channeling that mythical consistency Greece is famed for.
What’s truly amazing is how the food quality stays rock-solid consistent, and the interior looks straight out of decades past – and that’s a genuine compliment, adding to the cozy, unchanged charm! I do miss the original family at the helm, but the service remains warm, and the kitchen staff’s quality stands strong.
That steadfast menu – juicy gyros, vibrant hummus, flaky spanakopita, punchy falafel, thick Greek fries, zesty salads, and baklava that hits like a hero’s triumph – is humbly executed to perfection.
In a sea of trendy eateries, this understated gem satisfies with the staying power of Olympus itself. Keep the saga going, Athens!
There seems to be new management, The food quality has gone All the way down. My parents got the Greek Euro platters today. Meat was cold and had chunks of hard bits. My chicken wrap was cold and flavorless. The baklava was stale and hard as a rock. The Mexican rap blaring over the speakers, was an unwelcome change as well…
Fun little update from the next day- all three of us(my parents and myself) got sick after eating here. Avoid this place!!!
I will openly admit that Greek is likely my least favorite food because I’m not a fan of hummus, black olives or feta cheese. My experience begins with Gyros and ends with baklava.
My wife really wanted Greek food tonight and she wanted to try Athens. My gyro was very good and I really liked the baklava because it wasn’t too sweet. She really enjoyed her hummus and Greek salad.
If you like Greek food and are in the Roswell area – you really should give this a try. Even I may get adventurous and try something else.
