Good – Fries were thin and crispy. Spinach pie was pretty good. Tzatki sauce was nice.
Great – Customer service.
Could use improvement – I love gyros, but not these. The meat was chunky, not thinly sliced. Tomatos were not ripe, and the onions were thick. The pita was hard, not soft as expected.

Monday afternoon we decided to go to the mall for some shopping and while we were there, we had lunch. We went to the food court and noticed that the places which were there pre-IAN are back and working, plus there is one other eatery that was not there before.
We decided to eat the Athens Grecian Delight. The staff seemed nice and friendly. We both ordered the Large Greek Salad and were not disappointed! The salad was fresh and plentiful. In fact, there was more salad in this dish than in the sit-down places we have gone to in Port Charlotte. The Gyro meat was tasty and easy to chew. It was not dry. The dressing looked to be a simple red wine vinaigrette. Which, TBH, should have at least been a Greek dressing, but it still was tasty.
I decided to order a slice of baklava as well. After tasting mine, my wife went and got her own slice. The baklava was outstanding. It was more flavorful than the sit-down Greek place we went to last week.
If you are looking for Good Greek food at a reasonable price (Very Reasonable) I would suggest you check this place out. They are very consistent with their food quality. The atmosphere is not all that great, but what do you expect from a food court in a mall? I will gladly sacrifice ambiance for the price I paid, which was about HALF the price of the sit-down places I’ve gone to. You need to check them out!

The best gyro within 50 miles and one of the best I ever had. Went dozens of times while I lived in Florida. The meat is carved from a spit and the pita is perfect. Every person I sent there said “Really, in the mall?” Then they thanked me.

Great food. Hummus was fresh and tasted amazing could taste the tahini and lemon in it. Falafels were crisp but soft and tasted fresh unlike so many places. People were polite and service was fast. Will be back here for sure. They even sell the bags of pitas that they use.

What are the chances of finding a wonderful Greek joint in a Mall? This last weekend my family and I went to the Port Charlotte mall and my wife was having Sabarro pizza but I didn’t feel like it as I had made homemade spaghetti and meatballs the night before . . . so my son and I saw this humble “Athenian Grecian Delight” and decided to check it out. It’s run by a great guy named Carl with help from his side kick Merrick. The food was incredible and the service was unbelievable. Carl went out of his way to make sure that the meal was just the way we want it prepared with everything fresh after we ordered. I loved the Souvlaki but Carl giving me a wink, gave a sample of the “Gyro” and that would be the one I would get in the future for sure. Food was wonderful. Service was Extraordinary! I noticed later in their raving reviews, people were coming from far away just to go to This Little Greek place in the mall and get a Gyro. Amazing! If you go there ask for Carl and tell him Capt Jim sent you. You won’t be sorry! Jim Timpson of Venice FL.

Looking for a quick, delicious meal? We didn’t realize it was located in the mall, but as we drove up, we decided to give it a try. The service was fast and friendly. We had nicely prepared Gyros, fresh crispy fries, finished with Mugs Rootbeer. Priced right, the food was really good. Fast food delicious

I have been going to Athens since Nick was behind the counter and I still go to this day. They have kept their prices reasonable even with the inflation and the food quality has been great throughout the 20 plus years I have been a customer. There really are no good places left to go eat at the mall but I make it a point to go there just to get one of the combos and the Greek salads they make. They are truly authentic and have other options too for other people. I think they are the best and the fries are top of the line and they keep their fryers clean which is why I go out of my way to get them.
