“Gyros are delicious. This was a combo meal and it was . The fries were not salty but very seasoned. The gyro was big and good. The meat was amazing. The meat was lamb I think and it’s very easy to chew and does not have a strong bloody taste. The vegetables were delicious but there was a little too much raw onions to my liking. All the flavors mix well in the mouth. The building was a little dirty. The person was very nice. Overall I would rate 9/10.”

This place has been serving up the same great food for decades. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall, maybe a little run down, but definitely not dirty or unwelcoming. The people that work here have always been supremely kind. Everything on the menu is great. Portions are huge. Everything is fresh. We swing by whenever we have the chance. Every other gyro I’ve had in my life has been but an imitation of what they make here at Athens Cafe. If the scenery unnerves you, just get it to go. You’ll be glad you did.

First of off the food was very good. I got the combo special (chicken and gyro) with salad and drink. Not a fan of the chicken, would not get it again, but the gyro and salad were very good. Went there around 6pm, I was only customer there, but they did do steady take out. Only complaint was how old, dated and dirty it was, the table was very sticky, chairs were dirty, light bulbs flickering, floor dirty. I’m guessing that is why most people do take out. It was reasonable priced.

Been to several gyro places in the past month, and they tend to be either really good, or really bad… this was not good. Good sized gyro sandwich, decent hummus, but the gyro didn’t look or taste appetizing.

Some of the best Greek food I’ve had. The hummus is especially delicious. Ordered a Gyro platter with hummus and I was absolutely full…. which is pretty good for being 6′ 3″, 240 lbs.

This is by far the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. The gyro was so runny, the chicken was extremely bland, everything was sloppy, the place was gross, was worried and frankly astonished I didn’t get sick with how it looked and tasted. Threw out more than 3/4 of the gyro I ordered. People who are reviewing this more than a 1-2 star need to get their heads checked.

All around solid restaurant for Mediterranean cuisine. The flavor and bang for buck factor here are hard to beat, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. The staff were friendly but the interior atmosphere was a bit dingy and outdated. The falafel were crispy and delicious, though lacked flavor compared to other falafel I’ve had. The hummus was rich and satisfying but a bit too runny. The star of the show was the Athena chicken, which was well-marinated, grilled to have a slight char, and very tender, juicy, and flavorful especially alongside the sautéed onions and banana peppers. The portion was enough for a full lunch and leftovers for dinner. The pecan pastry was also a standout item, notable for how sweet, flaky, and buttery it was. The chocolate almond roll was a bit dry, as if it had been out too long. Overall I think 4 stars for this place is very fair; I’ve had better, but I did not regret eating here. Some items were just okay, others were great.

The salad was amazing and so were the crispy falafels. However their chicken and lamb plates were not good. The chicken was over cooked, hard and dry enough to leave a dent on the tab if thrown! But the hummus was good. Would go again only for appetizers. And not for main course. Also the desserts weren’t as good. They were way too sweet for even a bite.

Their food will blow even your highest standards out of the water. And the service is exceptional, as well. I highly recommend the souvlaki (even though I’m a gyro girl) and their baba ganoush is to DIE for. ❤️
