The best bagels in town! I order pumpernickle everything and it’s awesome! Their coffee was really nice as well. I would recommend to come and check it out. Will go back for more soon! The staff was nice and friendly.

My favorite is the Cannonball Run. Don’t question the veggie spread. It works!! I live it in the honey wheat bagel. Their salt bagel with the cream cheese spread is also a perfect combination. ABC is a MUST! We don’t live in Athens so I crave it when I’m home. Every visit to Athens means an opportunity for their delicious bagels.

I love the more bready bagels at ABC. and the young folks working there always seem to be very nice and hardworking. Kinda small and tight environs but never bothers me too much.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 10am and found the place packed! Barely got a seat and the bagels were running out as we ordered. It’s obvious this is a hot spot for students to meet and work, and for good reason because the bagel sandwiches we ordered were delicious! We sat ourselves at one of the table tops and ordered from a phone instead of going to the counter. The space was cramped, which is probably why most people ordered to go instead of trying to eat there. It took a while to get our order delivered to our table, but it’s understandable given the high demand at the time. Would come back!

Having lived for many years in cities like New York and Detroit, I must confess to being a bit of a bagel snob. ABC is one of the very few places in town to get real bagels. The breakfast sandwiches are all fantastic. The most unique and wonderful thing here, however, is the delicious homemade pastrami, which is completely different than processed, mass produced deli pastrami.

Feb 2036: another delicious breakfast at ABC. I was able to preorder for a later pickup. Make sure you wait until the restaurant is open before placing your order so the staff has time to populate which bagels are in stock. The text communication was great. The staff was friendly. We found a seat at 10 but then the crowd hit. It was a Sunday morning so not surprised. Our bagel sandwiches with eggs were cooked perfectly and delicious.

Feb 2025: We love the ABC and glad it is back open. It is one of our favorite spots in Athens and when we make the 1 hr trek to Athens we try to include it because the bagels and bagel sandwiches are so delicious. We recommend this to everyone when the topic of Athens comes up.

Has great potential, but the staff are woefully unaware of how to properly prepare a bagel. Everyone in my party ordered a double toasted lox and bagel and stressed several times that it be double toasted. Everyone’s came out like they had warmed it with a hair dryer (at best) . I asked them to fix mine and they happily attempted again, but instead brought me a black burned brick of a bagel. Again, great potential, but the staff needs some training on toasting bagels… as that is a key element to making a proper bagel.

Excellent bagels, and this is coming from someone who grew up near NYC. Such a treat to have this in Athens. Creative sandwich choices that taste great. Their pastrami is the real deal.

Never had issues with the service. Wait times can be longer during peak hours, but this is expected with a place so popular. Love Athens Bagel Company and would recommend.

Good to.have this place back. Ordered two lox bagel sandwiches online (everything and salt bagels). Other than the fact that “toasted” was a sold out option (I don’t know how this is possible), and that many of the cream cheese flavors were also sold out, the bagels were fresh and chewy, and the assembled sandwiches were delicious. They really should have seating options, rather than just walk up and online ordering, but these are real bagels, and incomparable to anything you’ll get in a grocery store. The lox was fresh and very flavorful. My order was ready when I arrived. The salt bagel needs more salt. And every bagel should be capable of being toasted.

Let’s hope they manage to keep this place alive this time.

Unfortunately one of the worst bagel eating experiences I have had. I had to throw half my bagel away and leave hungry because the hunk of pastrami on my sandwich was so thick and chewy i literally could not bite into it, and the sandwich itself was so drowned in mustard I couldn’t taste anything else. I also dislike requiring customers to order through QR code to dine in– I do not have a smartphone and my husband had to order and pay for us both. Feels like minimal service and subpar food. Last time I had this place about a month ago, we got takeout and the same sandwich was delicious, not sure what happened.
