Ateethi opened in March 2015 in Northeast Philly. The idea was to bring together the flavors of North and South India under one roof. Together, as a family, we shared our dream with our neighborhood. With our second location in Collegeville, we hope to showcase our family recipes to all those yearning for a home cooked meal. Allow your taste buds to travel all over the Indian subcontinent while staying right here in our beautiful Philadelphia/Montgomery. Go Birds! The word “Ateethi” means guest in Sanskrit. When you enter an Indian family’s home, you instantly become the most important person to us. We serve South and North Indian dishes. We do catering for all occasion.

My wife and I went here for her birthday this year and we were incredibly impressed. The owner was very friendly, as was our server, and it was a nice little shop and restaurant. The food was fantastic, the servings were very large and protein packed (not just sauce with little meat like many places do), and the menu was diverse and expansive.

I did a take out to find the pizza completely burnt from the bottom, when I called the place, owner said their policy is that I have to bring the pizza back and then only he’ll be able to either replace or refund and I live too far to worry about bringing the pizza back. I offered to send him a video of the pizza or show it on a video call, but he refused to replace the pizza or refund the money since we had thrashed the 1 piece that i had served, out of the large pizza.

Food was pretty average, service was super slow, this restaurant is not suitable for dine-in only suitable for takeaway. Seating is available outside and if is hot outside then you are going to sweat a lot because they have no cooling mechanism there. Only reason for 3 star is courteous behaviour of the owners otherwise don’t go for dine-in there.

Rava Dosa was delicious! Made to order. Mango Lassi was the best I’ve enjoyed – nice & thick, the way I like it. Absolutely recommend this place! Service was good too. Looking forward to trying more South Indian food from them.

While this place is a little unorthodox, it’s absolutely amazing. The gentleman who took my order suggested the Goat Masala and it did not disappoint. My father’s Chicken Chettinadu was maybe the best bite of Indian food I’ve ever had. If I didn’t live 8 hours away in North Carolina, I’d be eating here all the time.

So my husband and I went to this place for Indian groceries which are good quality and then noticed the restaurant menu.

Been here twice now and I have nothing but great things to say. Family owned and very friendly/welcoming, food is on point and authentic, generous portions at a very fair price point. Have travelled to India before and the flavors here at least match those in India itself. The only Indian restaurant we will go to now. Keep up the fantastic job that you’re doing!

Nothing like having good Indian food made inside a giant ice cream cone! We live about 45 minutes away but it was so worth the trip up there. They have Southern Indian specialities like Dosa. I particularly loved the Sri Lankan Kottu, which I don’t think you can get anywhere else in greater Philly. The Indian burritos are amusing. Can’t wait to go there again. It’s mostly a take out place but they have a couple of tables outside if you want to sit and eat there. The owner was incredibly nice.

The food is so genuine and delicious. The service is even better. The owners are so nice and whole hearted. They really do make their food with love. I also have to get the mango lassi every time! Can’t wait to go back.

The Owner is super nice and the bone in goat curry is delicious! My favorite place to go to in the area because they definitely don’t skimp on the meat. Samosa and garlic Naan are also a must have!
