We stopped here when driving through the KC area and were very happy we did! We ordered a brisket sandwich and a full slab of ribs. The brisket on the sandwich was so so delicious and cooked perfectly. It literally melts in your mouth. Then the ribs – YUM! They too were cooked to perfection – tender and juicy but still held together with perfect amount of rub and sauce. The owners are incredibly nice and have a great restaurant – very clean and accommodating. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this BBQ joint to everyone. We will definitely be stopping here again when we drive through!

My boss once told me, people never forget the way you make them feel. That is spot on with this place from the moment we walked in – so friendly and welcoming! Mom is using a walker, so they brought the food to our table. We had Fish & chips and KC Mac bowl with brisket. The catfish was the best Mom’s had in a long time. The brisket melted in my mouth, and the cheesy, creamy macaroni and cheese was perfect! Fries were nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall gem!! …now if they’d get some Pepsi! lol

We stopped here to try something different for dinner. We did the Jr KC Wild Plate. Lots of food for the price. Owner is super nice and made sure we were taken care of. Sat in the back room due to music being a bit loud out front, mentioned that to him and he said just let us know and we can turn it down. Also sweet potato pie is soooo good!!!! Yum!!! If we are back in the area we will try it again!

Best BBQ I’ve had in the last year. Which is saying something considering I’ve had some excellent Q. The sausage and brisket were phenomenal. The brisket being in the top 3 I’ve ever had. Ribs were fantastic as well. Fries are on par with Oklahoma Joe’s (alright “Joe’s KC”) i.e. seasoned and with that ideal crisp but are not dry. Also had the baked beans which are excellent. Service was friendly and efficient, particularly considering it was a busy Friday night. It’s a bit out of my neck of the woods but will definitely return. It’s absolutely worth the trip.

Been here a few times and the food is really good. Started one time with the baked potato special they have on Tuesdays and the tater isnt dry at all plus adding burnt ends to it added to it. Their meats are really good too. They also helped the community out during the SNAP issues by helping to feed the community, come on now, an establishment that helps out the community when it needed it? That alone should bring you out to at least give it a try. The owners are friendly people as well.

Super cool setup inside, super clean, and the family that owns it was really nice. We went with the $12 lunch specials and got the sandwich where you can pick two meats and the catfish. Everything was really fresh and the bbq sauce was not overpowering (which I personally like). The catfish was seasoned really well. Would definitely recommend and be back! We love supporting local!!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant in with it’s cute western decor. We went for dinner on a Friday night and let me tell you, the food was Exquisite and the service is Impeccable! Definitely enjoy your meal with a Crown and Coke to enhance your meal experience! Definitely will be back again and support our local businessman.

Edit: went back again tonight and had a delightful Old Fashioned and Lemon Drop!

The food is outstanding—tender brisket with the perfect bark, best ribs ever, and sides that taste homemade. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The service is just as impressive: attentive, quick, and genuinely kind. You can tell they truly care about making every guest’s experience memorable.

Seriously the best barbeque I’ve had. Everything was delicious!! My aunt isn’t usually a rib fan, but this place changed her mind. The ribs are amazing!!
In addition to the fantastic food, the atmosphere of Ate1Six gives off the vibe that you’re going to a good friend’s house for dinner. The staff make you feel like family, the music is always on point, AND before, during, or after dinner it’s always acceptable to get up and show off your best dance moves. The owner is more than likely to join you, too!
I can’t properly emphasize the camaraderie inside of this place! You may walk in a stranger, but you leave feeling like a part of the Ate1Six family.

My daughter’s took my to eat here on my birthday and I was skeptical of how good it was going to be because my expectations of BBQ in KC is high. I got the turkey sandwich and rings and was not disappointed. The young lady who served us was extremely helpful and had an amazing attitude. I wish they had a spicy sauce but our server said they were working on one. The prices were more than fair for BBQ. I would definitely recommend checking out this locally owned and ran establishment.
