Reviews
When we arrived, we were told they were running a bit behind. At 30 minutes past our reservation time, we checked in and got the standard “we’re working on it, thanks for your patience.” We checked again about 15 minutes later and got the same response. Normally we would’ve left, but this was what our 7-year-old requested for his birthday, so we stayed.
Once we were finally seated, everything was great. Our server and the hibachi cook were awesome, friendly, timely, and made it fun. They even brought out a drum and sang happy birthday, which my child loved. If we hadn’t spent nearly an hour trying to entertain a 7- and 4-year-old in the lobby, it would’ve been a wonderful experience.
I’m leaving this review in hopes it helps: please take a serious look at why this happened and fix it before it happens to someone else. A 50-minute delay past a reservation time is not simply “running behind”. It’s an error somewhere in the process. Either our table was given to another party or we were effectively placed on a regular waitlist after arriving.
If something goes wrong, own it, explain it, and offer a solution. Clear communication and accountability would have gone a long way toward preventing what should have been a special evening from starting off so frustratingly.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is top notch. It’s spacious, has beautiful decor, and the hibachi tables themselves are quite the spectacle. Our chef who cooked, performed and served us was super friendly and fun! He was the highlight of the whole experience for me, as he tried shooting broccoli pieces into our mouths and created a giant, fiery onion tower on the grill!
The food he cooked was lovely was well. For our appetizers, we got miso soup and house salad. I also chose to have some salmon sashimi on the side, which was fresh and delicious!
During my first visit I got the chicken teriyaki dinner, and it was wonderfully seasoned! Seeing the chef prepare it with such skill and a large variety of ingredients also really whet my appetite.
My second visit I got the Classic Scallop Dinner. The scallops were super tender and the fried rice was super flavourful. Both times the portions were very generous!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and can’t wait to come back for another delicious, dazzling hibachi performance!
