Talk about above and beyond! We love the meatballs here and ordered some meatballs for our dogs’ birthday and the staff came through! We can’t thank them enough for making her feel so special!!! The meatballs did not last long

Assaggio’s Italian Restaurant is located in Northwest Raleigh. The parking lot didn’t have many parking spaces. It does appear to have a lot of take-out orders, so the available spots may open up often.
We were a group of 8, but we were seated very tightly, so there wasn’t enough room to be comfortable. After drink orders were taken, garlic knots were brought out. But we didn’t have bread plates. I’m not sure whether they forgot or should have been at the table already.
I ordered the shrimp scampi. The six little shrimp were cooked well, but I did not find the pasta very flavorful. It needed some garlic and spices. I ordered this dish at many restaurants, and this just did not compare in quality. The prices are higher than those of other Italian restaurants, too.
The waiter seemed good at first, but one of the dishes was delivered to the wrong customer, so there was a delay in preparing a replacement meal. Then the kitchen never drained the water from the pasta so the sauce was watery. The waiter decided that he was sure the kitchen prepared it correctly, and this dish wasn’t taken back to the kitchen to get the pasta replaced. Another at the table had an almost identical dish, and the pasta sauce was not watery. It was disappointing that the waiter did not handle the situation properly.
When it was time to leave, we were told that to-go boxes were on a nearby table. The waitresses boxed up the leftovers for their tables, though. So I am not sure why the waiter didn’t do that for us. Then he left the payment device with me, as I was the last to pay, and didn’t wait to get it back after I completed the transaction. It was a very strange dining experience and not one I care to repeat.

The service was great, and the atmosphere was really nice. While the food didn’t quite suit my palate, I did enjoy the appetizers. I wasn’t a fan of the entrées, but overall, it was still a pleasant experience

My boyfriend and I order from here at least once every two weeks. The last three times, there has been quality issues with our order. After getting served this sloppy mess pictured below, we can no longer support this business. I tried to push through and eat a slice but when I picked it up, all the toppings slid off the pizza. $30 and they gave us pizza soup. My boyfriend showed them it before he left the store and the person at the front said it was fine. We called and asked for a refund from the manager since it’s not edible.

Their pastas are so good! We got the gnocchi and the assaggios and both were delicious. They were a bit on the pricy side but each entree came with bread and a side salad. The portions were also very generous. We will be back!

Great food – slow service! I like the fact that they still include a free salad and garlic knots with your dinner. It did take over 20 minutes for us to receive our salads after we ordered. Just like most restaurants the portion sizes have decreased. The eggplant rollatini used to have 3 eggplant rolls – now you only get 2 – still plenty to eat. The Penne Santa Lucia was very flavorful. Spotty service dampened our dinner!

Very good food and very large portions. Should be a dish for every appetite and the staff was very welcoming. Small bar available for the sports crowd good for the people hanging out waiting on laundry to finish up next door also. Very good food

Since I had already had a late breakfast, most of it was packed, but even when it was cold, it was still quite delicious, and there was a large amount of food..
I was very disappointed that I couldn’t eat dessert. Next time, I will come visit after emptying my stomach. ✌️

We dined here for the first time February 28 and the best way I can describe it is “hidden gem.”. It’s not really visible from Hwy 70 although we’ve passed it often while out and about. The food and service were all top-notch and the bar served great cocktails. I highly recommend Assaggio’s!
