This restaurant was suggested by friend so can in for the mushroom melt. It regularly comes on a bread but I requested the spinach wrap. Also lived the unsweetened ginger peach iced tea!
My food came out quickly and hot as these are made fresh in the open kitchen in the back. The melt was a great combination of veggies and I had the salad as a side. The homemade dessert case is fantastic! Look forward to visiting her again!

This is the best little secret in Florence! I’m in a group of ladies for brunch in different places every two weeks, and today was Aspen Leaf. We walked right in and placed our orders, and they arrived at our table within ten minutes. The food presentation is visually pleasing, which you can almost taste with your eyes, but biting into it is the best! The staff is super friendly. We really enjoyed Jerry, a man who frequently plays his guitar and sings quietly at a table by himself. All around the tables are gifts that you won’t find anywhere else because many of them are handmade with materials imported from other countries. This place is well worth the trip to Florence, the place I call the “Mayberry” of yesteryear.

I ordered a mix of savory and sweet options, and every single item was outstanding. The croissants were buttery, flaky, and clearly made with skill. The cinnamon rolls are a must-try—soft on the inside, with just the right amount of glaze. I also had a quiche that was simply divine: the crust perfectly crisp, the filling creamy and rich.
What really sets Aspen Leaf apart is the attention to detail in both the food and the presentation. Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked Instagram-worthy—yet it didn’t feel pretentious. There’s real heart and craftsmanship in what they serve.
The coffee deserves its own praise. I had a cappuccino that was well-balanced, strong but smooth, with perfect foam art. You can tell they use quality beans and care about consistency.
As for the setting, there’s both indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside with a view of the trees and morning light filtering through—an idyllic moment to sip coffee and watch the world go by.
The cleanliness of the space was impeccable. Tables were cleared promptly, and everything felt thoughtfully arranged. Even the little things, like real silverware and ceramic cups, added to the experience.
Whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, a quiet place to write, or simply a good pastry and coffee, Aspen Leaf Bakery and Café delivers. It’s now one of my go-to spots whenever I’m in town, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The ambience of this quaint, small town café is relaxing and nostalgic. There are various items for sale throughout the establishment that have been hand made by local artists. Then, there’s the food!!! I have tried the cream of homemade mushroom soup with a delightful side salad along with thier ranch dressing, as well as, a few of thier pastries. To be honest, I can not pick a favorite because everything is made to perfection !! The ladies who work there are so nice and welcoming that it reminds me of visiting my aunties as a youngster. If you’re looking for a quiche or a turnover, soup, salad or sandwich this is the place to tickle your palate. If you’re thirsty, then be prepared for a wonderful, tastebud experience! They have a wide array of drinks to suit everyone in a crowd. From Italian sodas to teas and coffees there’s so much to choose from. Don’t take it from me, find out for yourself!!!

Large counter full of tasty treats, pies, muffins, etc. The bread for the sandwiches is very fresh and delicious. The olive mix on the Italian was very overwhelming to the sandwich. The cuban was excellent. Top off your meal with a treat from the counter.

What a great locally owned business! We met the owners daughter the night before after asking for great breakfast spots around Canon City. Loved hopping right over to Florence to this unique Cafe that is filled with other locally owned business owners making the cafe homing. It is truly one of a kind. The quiche was delicious and we even left with a lemon bar for the road that wasn’t overly sweet which was perfect for us!

This place is fabulous!! The pastries were plentiful and delicious. The staff were fantastic and such a delight. The ambiance is very charming/relaxing. The only struggle was choosing which pastries to try. Well I was not able to try them all…..I tried….but will definitely be back and have another go round. The bread pudding was spectacular!!!!
