Its my first time ordering from this place and sadly disappointed by the quality of the food, the long wait time and how expensive for little amount of food.

Wait Time: 1 hr to wait for a placed order that took 5 minutes.
Price of meals: $60 for 2 orders of Bistec Encabollado and additional orders shown below.

Meals: Bistec Encebollado (Sautéed Onions covering a thin like flank steak) with white rice and red beans.

Paid Extra for fried sweet plantains and Morir Soñado (Die Dreaming Drink).

Below are images showing the following disappointments.

The Red Beans:
More water than a creamy texture and lack of actual beans. Lack flavor. Came in very small plastic container.

Sweet Plantains: semi fried/cooked.

Drink: Morir Soñado
Overpriced for a small drink and lacked in the creaminess orange popsicle taste.

Bistec Encanollado:
Traditionally the thin flank steak is NEVER CUT into pieces and is covered with a lots of onions and sauce. Usually comes in two medium-large strips. The meat lacked in the sauce and had overcooked onions. Very little onions were given. Also more fat content than actual meat when it came to the steak. Came in a small container and they definitely chopped the meat to make it appear like that were two strips of flank steaks.

Overall, sadly, I love to support my local latino businesses but Asopao is a no go for me. I do not recommend.

Looks great on the outside driving by, but thats all there is to it. Went in on a cold night, might as well have eaten the food outdoors, freezing cold!

Our order of Yuca Frita had a really greasy, oily taste but yet so dry. The pernil was too salty, Mofongo was tolerable. Oxtail portions were good for the prices, but again, too salty. It appeared the host was in a bad mood all night until it came time to bring us the check.

5 Stars – Authentic Flavor and Great Vibes!
If you’re looking for some flavorful Spanish food—or just good food in general—this is the spot! The taste instantly reminded me of being in the Dominican Republic, full of authentic flavor and home-style cooking. I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money on pizza or one of the usual local spots. I got real food at a great price, and to top it off, an ice-cold beer. Can’t beat that. Definitely coming back!

First time trying their breakfast dishes here and I ordered mashed plantain called mangu with pickled onions, chicharron/fried pork and fried mozzarella cheese. I also tried the fruit orange drink with milk forgot the names. Will come back to try their lunch options. Only thing I hate about going here is the difficulty finding a parking spot. Not easy lol

Really disappointed in my experience here. We came for lunch afternoon and the service was insanely slow. It took 30 minutes to get our food and it was very difficult communicating with the staff when asking how much longer it would be. The ordering was also quite confusing as some people came in and seemed to order from the front buffet looking area and immediately got to eat. We however, sat down and ordered, and saw some of the food being prepared from this same area, but it took 30 mins to be served. Very confusing. We ordered the chicken soup and fried chicken with rice and beans. The soup was good, but I wasn’t excited to have to pick through bones/it was difficult to do in a soup. The fried chicken was also fine, but I expected it to be with some sort of sauce or something? It’s nothing at all what I was expecting and pretty dry. We asked for black beans and got pinto, but they were fine. Honestly I wouldn’t go back.

I must say this Has to be one of the best places in all of White Plains, New York. I highly recommend this place. I want authentic food from my families country and this place gave it to me. My Dominican breakfast clearly was the best I’ve ever had in a long time and I make a damn good breakfast. Thank you very much. Everyone in the location. It was a great pleasure being here in this beautiful atmosphere.

First time I have ever rated a dominican place 5 stars all the way. The atmosphere is good vibes, kinda romantic if you sit by the windows with the lights and the service was amazing. Met the owner whom took our order. But the food..omfg the best dominican food..better than my mom.

The food was flavorful, but the steak and pork chop was tough. We also ordered the Pulpo salad and it was tough. The service was excellent, so much that they asked what song to play. I would recommend this play for sure.

Honestly DELICIOUS! Came in for a chimi and the special punch shake they do!
The atmosphere is welcoming they played great Bachata Oldies while I was there so I enjoyed my time. The owners came around to see how the service was and if the food was good. The waitresses were very amicable and welcoming as well! I sat in the front area very clean and comfy. They have more seating further back. The food selection was vast and once again VERY TASTY!
The restrooms were also very clean! Definitely coming back again!

Amazing view awesome food best bandeja típica with lots bits of everything. If you want good quality home made meal at a affordable price I’ll highly recommend Asopao Cuisine, very good Mimosas we end up drinking like 20 of them. My Daughter and her friends had a blast, Birthday song was the best
