I had mixed feelings about this Georgian restaurant. The khachapuri was excellent — easily a 5-star dish and the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, everything else was very mediocre. The kebab came in huge pieces, but lacked seasoning and flavor, which was disappointing.
The service was very basic. It felt more like “tell me what you want and I’ll bring it” rather than attentive or knowledgeable. The server couldn’t really explain the menu or offer recommendations, which took away from the experience.
Overall, the place felt more like a small casual café than an upscale Georgian restaurant. There’s potential, but aside from the khachapuri, the food and service didn’t quite live up to expectations.

After reading the negative reviews I still gave the restaurant a chance. We came for my hubby birthday & had the same negative experience others had. Never again! Come at your own risk! Here’s some advice: if anyone comes here to eat, make sure to order ALL your food at ONCE or get it “to go”. The waitress never returns. Food takes extremely long. Restaurant closes at 12 midnight. We had reservations at 9:30pm. At 10 pm, I asked for a 2nd cocktail after waiting 30 minutes for the waitress to come back to our table. The waitress said the bar tender left already and they are about to close in 10-20 minutes. I said “don’t you close at 12 midnight?” Then she said “I don’t know”. The food was decent but the service sucked. The waitress is not attentive. She walks away and don’t come back. A 1-hr dinner turned into a 2-hr dinner due to excessive wait times. We were the only guests there. Our orders were very simple: 3 kebabs, 1 grilled vegetables, & 1 dumplings. They have an automatic gratuity of 20% which is why the effort in waitressing sucks. The tip is automatic. If you’re smart order the food as take out. Dinning in is wasteful time & money wise.

We always visit this place when in Miami!
The pork shashlik is super delicious! Very tender meat! We also loved khinkali, fried potato with meat was a highlight of the dinner!
Highly recommended to visit!

It’s our fourth visit to the restaurant and we keep coming back for the amazing food. This time was no different. Maria provided attentive and very personal service. The wine list does not disappoint with its options. Great place for any occasion.

Came here for dinner on my birthday with my bf, the ambiance was great and the food was even better. We ordered a couple different items for the table and were very satisfied/pleased.
They gave us a bread for the table and were surprised with how good it was. We then ordered the eggplant pomegranate which was one of my favorite dishes (they didn’t add any pomegranate to ours), we also ordered the garlic chicken, and the cheese egg bread & my oh my was it one of the best things I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone to try Georgian food.
The parking was a bit complicated as it was valet & they only accept cash.

This restaurant used to be quite good, but unfortunately it has gone downhill. The service leaves much to be desired throughout our entire visit, the staff came to our table only three times. Dirty plates and cups were left all over the table, no one came by to clear them, offer water, or check on us. The food has also declined in quality; even khachapuri was, regrettably, not good at all.

The worse service. No one was helping. The food was below average and no one even asked how the food was or was available. Nobody was attentive when I asked to remove a mandatory service charged. Mandatory refused to do that for the principal and I have pictures to prove that the dishes were not cleaned the table with dirty with empty dishes, and nobody came over to ask if we ever needed anything we ordered dessert with main course still being on a table and dirty dishes we had to go and ask for people to come in and help us. And the waitress started negotiating and using and excuse that they were busy with a big party.

Yesterday we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Askaneli, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding, and the food was unique, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
We especially want to thank Maria, who took care of us with such kindness and a big smile — she was attentive, cheerful, and made sure everything was perfect. The owners also came by to greet us personally, which made the evening feel even more special.
My husband, my family, and I truly had a wonderful time at Askaneli. Thank you for the warm hospitality and for making my husband’s birthday celebration unforgettable.
Highly recommended!

My wife and I travel throughout the entire state of Florida, and we are always looking for a unique dining experience. We saw this place listed as traditional Georgian cuisine and had to give them a try. We have been to Russian, Ukranian, and a Uzbeki restaurant, but we have never tried traditional Georgian cuisine. We ordered dumplings, traditional bread dishes, stews, and other dishes. Everything we had had flavors well different from Russian flavors. They were delicious and unique to other similar European cuisine styles we have tried in the past. They also have Eastern European beers and wine available. Our service was impeccable. They had some of the most delicious food we have ever tried on our many dining experiences. If you are a foodie, you definitely need to try this restaurant if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Visiting this restaurant left me with very mixed impressions – on the one hand, the food was excellent, as always. Flavorful, well-presented, and honestly the only reason I keep giving this place another chance.
BUT the service? Consistently underwhelming! There’s no hostess to greet or guide you, which already sets a confusing tone when you walk in. Once seated, the waitstaff seem to operate on a witness-protection level of invisibility – no water offered, no check-ins, no warmth, no personality. In a region like South Florida, where hospitality is practically a competitive sport and friendliness is part of the dining currency, this place feels oddly disconnected from the local service culture. I’ll probably return – for the cuisine, not the customer experience. But it would be nice if one day both sides of the house decided to collaborate.
