First time ordering here while I was in town, and I used Uber Eats. Overall, not a great experience.
The honey walnut shrimp was okay. The shrimp itself was good, but the “sweet cream sauce” was not as described. It tasted more like watered-down icing, basically sugar and water, instead of the usual creamy sauce. 5/10.
The fried rice was the best part of the meal. Pretty good flavor. 7/10.
The beef egg roll was not good. It didn’t taste fresh, the meat was grizzly, and there were bits of cartilage ground into it. The flavor was just off. 3/10.
What really made this a bad experience was the customer service. I spent over $50 and didn’t get a single napkin, fork, chopsticks, or anything else with the order. Not one item. When I called about it, I was basically told they don’t do that. I’ve never had takeout like this show up with absolutely nothing included.
The food was packaged nicely, but that’s about the only positive. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. Customer service: 1/10.

I loved this incredible gem we discovered during a recent trip. As someone who is strictly gluten free, finding safe places to eat when traveling is challenging. The gracious owners patiently answered my questions and showed a strong understanding of the need to prevent cross contamination. They even have a separate gluten-free fryer, and the fried salt and pepper chicken was one of my favorite menu items. The chicken was lightly battered in a gluten free coating that was crispy, garlicky, umami goodness!!
A few other things worth noting:
– There is also a huge menu of non-gluten free dishes that the rest of my family savored.
– This isn’t a sit-down restaurant, but it is a very convenient spot for take out.
– The value is amazing considering the quality, flavor, generous portion sizes, friendly service, and peace of mind.
I wholeheartedly recommend Asian Wok!

Let me start off this review by saying that the Asian Wok Cafe is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Alexandria. With the Asian Wok you aren’t paying for the atmosphere, (It’s carryout only , but their is a small outdoor area with tables.) you pay for the quality of the food & the quantity of the food.
The Asian Wok is located in a former “Little Tavern” on North Washington Street between a gas station and construction site. And, as a result of indecisions by the landlord the building has become pretty rundown but, remember you are not paying for the atmosphere, you are paying for their amazing Kung Pao Chicken; their killer General Tso’s Chicken; their wonderful Pork with Eggplant; and their Spicy Wontons. Of course certain dishes are better than others, but you learn which are their best dishes and those become your go to dishes.. …Our daughter & family live in Takoma Park, MD and whenever they come to Alexandria they always pick up food from the Asian Wok!
To sum up this review, Go to the Asian Wok! Get your carryout!!! You will love it! (And, to my brethren, hopefully I will see you there on Christmas Eve, but make sure you order early, after a certain period they get so busy that they stop taking orders! Ken

The atmosphere is at 4 only because the seating area is only outdoor which is not suitable for winter times. Although large umbrellas are available. However the food there is awesome and for a good price. I tried the Mongolian beef and basil beef and they are my favorites. So juicy and tender yet flavorful and not too strong. Just enough flavor so that you can enjoy it. It is a family owned business and I would recommend giving it a shot.

Wow, I’ve never had healthy tasting Chinese food before. The salt pepper chicken was fried, but barely left any grease… This was delicious and celiac and gluten-free friendly. Amazing find

Asia Wok is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in Alexandria. Their Kung Pao Chicken is exceptional — easily the best I’ve found in the area. The flavors are bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced every single time.
Whether you’re in the mood for something traditional or exploring their vegan options, everything is consistently delicious.
The food is always hot, tasty, and made with care by Daisy and her husband.

I wanted some late night fried rice so I stopped here and got an EGG fried rice. Lady at the window asked me if I wanted veggie fr but I was like no, egg with onion and sprout. It was $14. $14 is a lot to me for egg only, especially looking at other reviews saying that this place has good prices but I guess that’s not for late night egg fr. Got home, there’s NO EGG. It’s rice and onion and sprout. No egg to be found anywhere. Why do I ask for egg if you don’t give me egg? Also, I guess along with skipping the egg the fr had a funny taste. A mix of smoke and DC water. I didn’t taste soy sauce or anything flavorful in the rice. It just wasn’t what I’m used to. The smokiness wasn’t a good thing, and DC water flavor is never a good thing. But I added a second star bc at least they gave me the largest box they had and filled it to the brim. I’ll find my egg fried rice elsewhere. For cheaper. The standing outside in the rain thing threw me off a little too. Walk ups only. Definitely not for winter.

My go-to place for Chinese food! The best gluten free Chinese in the area. When I was diagnosed with Celiac disease I searched for a gluten free Chinese restaurant and Asian Wok is the best. The owner is very knowledgeable about gluten free food and takes pride in the menu they’ve developed for gluten free options. The Salt and Pepper chicken and Mongolian Beef are my favorites, definitely try them today you won’t believe they’re gluten free!

Top three, if not the best Chinese food in Alexandria. My favorite fried rice ever. I’ve never had anything less than 9/10 on the menu. If my wife would let me I’d order every day.
