Asian Star Restaurant, a name that implies only “one star.”
Asian Star has three restaurants operating in Oklahoma: Wagoner, Pryor, and Tulsa. The one Wagoner has been a favorite of mine for several years. I was hoping the Tulsa restaurant would be as good. It was not. It was a disappointment.
The restaurant is worn, the service is average, and the soy sauce bottles on the table had not been wiped clean or refilled since Mao Zedong was in power. Luckily, searching the other tables, I was able to find a fairly new sriracha bottle that didn’t have sriracha boogers growing on the nozzle. The food was acceptable, but overrated in some reviews. No reason to come back.
A guide to Spike’s inconsistently applied, subjective rating system. 1-Star “this place shouldn’t even be in business.” 2-Stars “I just wish I hadn’t gone there.” 3-Stars “Ok, but I won’t be back.” 4-Stars “I will be back.” And 5-Stars “an establishment nominated for Spike’s Favorite list”

you know, I’ve always had a saying I’ve used to describe those little hole in the wall restaurants. “The more run down, it looks the better the food taste.” If you’re used to americanized asian food, your taste pallet might be in for a rude awakening. the food here has an authentic taste and experience. I ordered two lunches that came with the main dishes with a side of lo mein and two egg rolls, 3 fried dumplings, aka gyoza, and two waters. I paid 30 bucks for all that, which in today’s economy is a steal. I only took a picture of one of the plates since me and my family ate it faster than I could snap pictures.

Not very good honestly. The noodles have a strange flavor and they are definitely over cooked. The chicken for sweet and sour chicken was burnt, hard and dry in the inside, along with the egg roll. I think they may keep their burners to hot or something. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. Was not super impressed but it was warm when it was delivered so I guess that’s a plus.

I am only getting them to stars because the spring rolls that I ordered were pretty good. However everything else was absolutely terrible.I was craving Singapore noodles and decided to try this place out, they had pretty good reviews on both doordash and on Google maps.I ordered the Singapore noodles and to vegetable spring rolls. As you can see in the picture the noodles were dry and filled with nothing but grease I’ve never had Singapore noodles this greasy and this tasteless. I am so disappointed in the quality of this food. They gave me fried rice as well I am not sure if it comes standard with the noodles, but the rice was it quite as bad as a noodles were. I think my son enjoy playing in them more than he did eating them.

They cater at the Tulsa bus plant , and my mother decided she wanted Asian food , she ordered the Beef And Broccoli. She ate all the ride and got down to the last bit and realized there was a mouse on her fork after a fellow employee said ” what’s that ” . The mouse was cooked and caramelized. Please don’t give these people your money, because you DONT KNOW what your eating .
