We saw the Asian Buffet restaurant on Google and we ordered over the phone. We chose to have a smorgasbord of Boston roll sushi, California rolls sushi, Teriyaki chicken strips, pork egg rolls and wonton soup. I went to pick it up around the corner (on 1281 S 2nd Street in Raton NM) and there were plenty of cars in the parking lot, which is always a good sign.
The food was great and plenty for left overs. They gave us chop sticks, and good sauce and fortune cookies.

Dined in on a Tuesday at 6p with a co worker. We were immediately greeted and seated. This place used to be a buffet before the pandemic hit and they’ve adjusted and survived. Good for them.
I ordered the “Happy Family” combination plate which is beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and vegetables all cooked in an asain sauce. I had them hold the shrimp. It comes with fried rice. And I added a side of 2 eggrolls…
The food arrived quickly, looked great and tasted amazing. The price was a little high but acceptable. The staff are super polite, friendly and professional. This is a family owned and family run establishment.
The outside of the restaurant looks like it’s a run down coin op laundry or something. The inside isn’t much better. But the food is worth it. And I love supporting locally owned small business. Their food is fast and good. I would definitely eat here again.

The food is great and the staff have excellent service. There place was clean and I enjoyed seeing the children of the owner working there.
They had several choices I’ve not seen at other Chinese Buffets before such as Japanese Chicken and Pork & onions.
The restroom could use s little improvement but at least there were toilet seat covers.

I’m Chinese and I live in an area in Texas with lots of Chinese/Asian food. I was amazed at how delicious and authentic the food was here! Take out is the only option right now and the portion sizes were great…it fed us with 2 adults and 2 kids for dinner and lunch the next day! We got three entrees (Sesame Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, and Cashew Chicken). Meat was tender, there were plenty of fresh vegetables, flavor was great and Sesame Chicken was crispy. Plus, you know it’s authentic Chinese food when you get these little candies with the fortune cookies! Highly recommend!

We stopped here to pick up food at 7:15 December 23 on our way to Christmas in Tucson. We knew we’d stop driving when there was nothing available but junk so it was important to have something to eat when we stopped.
This couldn’t be more of a family business- the staff seems related and there’s a tween play area. The kids seem pretty smart and friendly; regulars have probably enjoyed watching them grow up during holidays when they’re not in school.
Check out the hand painted signs. Usually these are too small but I spotted the buffet one across the road. I’m not sure why a stereotypical southern Italian chef is over the door but it’s not my place to question… since I don’t know who to ask.
Our Moo Shu had the thinnest pancakes & sweetest sauce imaginable but I don’t expect my food to always be the same. The deep fried tofu was chewy- I’d suggest softer versions instead. I order Chinese food for high percentage of veggies but neither met my expectations- they rarely do unless I’ve been eating at a restaurant a lot and know the staff. The buffet looked better and the staff was very atttentive to requests to have dishes refreshed. We could have ordered the buffet but didn’t know until after ordering. I agree with others that the buffet generally is the better choice. I don’t think it’s fair to give the business one star because of a crass customer who served herself with her fingers. If the staff cleaned up and if she took the food she touched, it’s gone. They didn’t tell her to serve herself with her fingers, did they? How is it the restaurant’s fault?
The decor is what I expect in small town Chinese restaurants everywhere: Unheated (women’s) restroom, stall dividers painted over, Formica tables, hard floor covering, same placemats & menus… I acknowledge some are better and some are worse. This doesn’t smell dirty- I don’t remember any negative association; although I paid attention I’m typing this up later.

We came into this Asian buffet at 4:01 pm, but the buffet has been closed since COVID. We ordered a few plates by 4:10 and sat down inside. By 4:22 we had our plates put into take out boxes. The lo mein was made fresh but with too much salt in the sauce. Fresh bean sprouts and cabbage with carrots and shrimp. The crab meat cheese wontons are made fresh and we’re not burnt. There is more cheese than crab in the wontons.
All drinks are bottled including water. The buffet tables are filled with packaging so it’s not a great sight. But the food here is made fresh with only minimal shortcuts with the sauces used. Overall this place gets major points for the food but the run down restaurant needs some reupholstering and new carpet. It definitely looks like an old golden corral or pizza hut from the 70’s/80’s.

We arrived for lunch and found lots of parking. Not busy during lunch time, decent selection of food. 1 kind of sushi, ice cream by scoops, couple of desserts.
Clean bathrooms.
Paid $28 for 3 adults & 1 child.
