I’ve been to a few Chinese restaurants in the Charlottesville region. This restaurant was the poorest that I have visited. I ordered egg drop soup and sweet-and-sour chicken. The soup was good, but the sweet-and-sour chicken was hard nuggets and a slightly offputting taste, Like they had been in the fryer too long with old grease. I ate two or three pieces and threw out the rest. Very disappointing.

Ordered delivery from this place and had to get a refund because it was so greasy. The entire bag was drenched in grease and all of the food had a pool of grease at the bottom of their boxes. There was also a pool at the bottom of the bag. One of the sides of the boxes was so covered in grease that it molded to the bag and I had to tear it off. Really hate to write this review because I know they’re a small business serving college students, but the amount of grease made me lose my appetite.

6/1/23 ORDERED VEGES AND NOODLES. Delicious if you don’t want spicy. Best of all you don’t feel bloated from eating their food. Enough for 2 people. (pic #4)

1/25/23 Charlottesville, VA. Ordered Amazing Chicken (darker pic with mushrooms). Very good with a sweet spicy sauce. Large pieces of chicken and lots of mushrooms, onions and those tiny corn things. Previous Order: Moo Goo Gai Pan. Vegetables crisp, chicken tender, lots of water chestnuts and zucchini. Wonderful light flavor. Enough for 2 lunches. Highly recommend if not in the mood for something spicy or heavy.

I think this is the best fast Chinese food in town! Every once in a while they have an off day, but for the most part… delicious! Can’t beat the $2 delivery charge either.

Decent fast food Chinese restaurant. Could be a quick pickup it a long painful wait depending on the time of day that you go. I enjoy the food and lunch combo pricing. Not a lot room to sit inside. They could use a better system to keep track of who bought what so that when the food is ready it goes to the correct person in order. Staff is generally friendly and accommodating. Thanks.

We order from Asian Express approximately once every three weeks. Every other order it seems we have an issue. Usually, it’s just that it takes 1.5h for our order to be ready instead of 45m as promised, so we have started ordering earlier and waiting to pick up the food which has alleviated some of these issues.
Most recently – they completely messed up our order. As in- gave us the wrong sushi even though the bag was correctly labeled. When we called to report the issue, they offered to deliver us a new order but this would have taken 45+m. We asked that they credit us on the incorrect order and we assured them we would continue to order from them. She responded she couldn’t credit us as it was a big order ($87). She then offered a partial refund and stated it wasn’t her fault since she was not present when the order was prepared. We accepted the partial refund. We will not be ordering from them again. She was also quite rude and yelled at us on the phone, even though the mistake was theirs. Wanted to warn others.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE! Literally took my payment before asking my address, then got an attitude with ME because she had the wrong address. Told me she had family problems and do I want the food or not. Def did NOT want the food after her nasty attitude, says she sending my refund and hung up while I was talking. Not sure if it’s her establishment or what but will NEVER eat here again. Very poor customer service. Not the lady with the glasses but the other one. If you having family problems maybe take the day off or come in later but taking it out on your customers is unacceptable. Also refunds take a week apparently.

Ordered salmon sashimi and a shrimp tempura roll. The fish was very fresh and delicious, the roll was good too. A bit pricey for lunch time and portion ($15), but good food for a short wait.

I ordered dinner special sesame chicken and shrimp and broccoli and this was the size they gave me! First I did not receive for an 1hr and mind you I live 5 minutes from the restaurant. I called about the food and I was told that they have been there for 14 years and their lunch special and dinner special are the same sizes but the dinner is more expensive. Then I got hung up on! Since I was hungry I started to eat my cold food since it was late, and the chicken was overcooked, hard, and dry to taste. I am very disappointed and this was my first time eating here and I was recommended too. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone due to rude service, overpriced small meals, and distasteful food!
