I’m new in town from Chicago, where Chinese food is done a certain way—and unfortunately, this place missed the mark completely.
I ordered shrimp egg foo young and sweet & sour shrimp. I was told everything only comes in one size, which was fine. I asked for my egg foo young to be spicy and was told they’d give me something on the side, but I never received it.
The egg foo young wasn’t submerged in gravy like it normally is (unless you specifically request otherwise). Instead, the gravy was on the side, tasted off, and the dish had large diced onions you could clearly see and taste. The overall flavor just wasn’t good, and I couldn’t finish it.
The sweet & sour shrimp was also disappointing. The sauce smelled like it had a ketchup base, and while the shrimp was coated on the outside, the breading inside was mushy.
If you’re used to real Chinese takeout—especially Chicago-style—this place probably won’t do it for you.

Yes the food tasted exactly how it looks, horrible! This is the worst thing I have ever had. What was supposed to be pad Thai tasted like sweet & sour chili on noodles. The chicken, pineapple, fried rice. Just taste like black pepper. Very upset that I wasted my money here.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I was disappointed w/ the food here. When I ordered I asked if they use white meat chicken and was told yes. Got the lunch order of general tso chix & Mongolian beef for $18. Now I’m not a chickenologist, but I’m 100% sure white meat chicken isn’t grey like dark meat. Also, I’d respect restaurants more if they’d stop using white rice noodles underneath the food to make it seem like they’re giving you more food and just put food in each section of the container, but i literally only had 6 pieces of beef in my Mongolian beef order hidden in a slew of grilled onions. The pork fried rice was not made fresh, it was cold/dry/crumble-y like couscous w/ 4 little diced pieces of pork on top. The wonton soup was ok, it wasn’t salty but wasn’t flavorful but had 2 big stuffed wontons in it. The star of the show were the pork egg rolls. Hot and crispy w/ ground pork and veggies and was not mushy inside. If I ever have a taste for egg rolls I’ll hit them up, but I guess it’s panda express until I finally find a local Chinese place I like.

Asian Chef are one of those hole in the wall type restaurants, if you know, you know kind of thing. And I think that’s the beauty of it. If you live in the area or know people who do live in that area, and they tell you about this place, you can never go wrong.
The fact that their prices are low and affordable even with what’s going on in the world says a lot about their establishment.
Especially with the serving you receive for what you are paying for, it is completely worth it.
Support small businesses all the way!

Ok so we came here on a chance figured we would try it out. We ordered a Asian chef special, dumplings, edamame, beef and broccoli lunch special, and rib special and a few other items. Not only was it false advertising they show one thing on there Menu and they have hand written signs that say something else but when they charge you they charge a while another price. Now the guy taking the order was so rude! Not only was our food distasteful but the way we were treated was unacceptable. After attempting to explain the issue was he proceeded to have an attitude with my brother who hadn’t said anything to him he then began to scream at him and become hostile my brother stated sir I haven’t even said a word for you could you just refund me so we can go. He snatched the remained food off the table and said if you don’t like it go somewhere else .

I got the Mongolian beef dinner combo. It was more like “Mongolian overcooked slimy vegetables” which were ONLY onions with hardly any beef. My God! how could you serve Mongolian beef with slimy overcooked vegetables and barely any beef? I’m never ordering from here again! The pork and beef eggrolls that I got didn’t even have meat in it. Maybe three small pieces. I wouldn’t recommend people to eat here!

No matter what I order from Asian Chef, it’s ALWAYS a delightful symphony to my taste buds…it’s fresh, nicely portioned, reasonably priced and last but not least, the customer service is superb! Thank you for being my favorite Chinese spot in Vegas!
