UPDATE: After a great visit at Asian Bowl I had to update the review. Arriving early at 4 we had the place to ourselves. Based on the recommendation of the co-owner, we began with a bowl of Tom Yum. It was hot and delicious with plenty of sour and heat. Absolutely delicious. The appetizer was vegetable dumplings – full of flavor despite being all veggies. Our main courses were Green Curry Beef and Spicy Basil with Beef. The curry dishes at Asian Bowl are AMAZING. I almost wished I had ordered the Spicy Basil – the total basil and heat flavors were perfect. An absolute treat in the burbs that has never disappointed. I will make this one of my regular asian cuisine destinations. HINT – deliveries require a $15 minimum.

This restaurant is a favorite of ours in Grayslake. We love the fresh food and authentic flavors! The owners are always very kind and helpful. The lunch buffet is fast and delicious and ordering from the menu always results in tasty dinners with enough to take home.

First time trying Asian bowl 10/30/18,, pulled up the menu online, prices were out of date, ordered the chicken pad thai lunch special (7.95 online menu) the food was ready for pick up fast. the dish however was nothing to get excited about. the chicken chunks were dry, the noodles were over cooked. a few bean sprouts and that’s about it. the portion was ridiculously small. for paying 10 bucks. Would i recommend Asian Bowl to my friends and family ? Probably Not.

Stopped in at the beginning of the lunch buffet. The buffet was a little awkward, yet functional, but the food was good. Couldn’t get enough of the Panang curry chicken and really enjoyed the pad Thai and crab Rangoon.
Good lunch for less than 10 dollars. You may need to ring the bell to get their attention.

The food made me super sick like if it wasn’t cooked right I am 5mths pregnant and I was hoping for some delicious food but it really wasn’t a good lunch I went here with my girlfriend we both have gotten really socks.. Drinks were good service people were nice but the fried rice I had and the food there in the buffet was a huge disappointment! Never going again!

Best Kept Secret in Grayslake!
We just discovered this restaurant after being treated pretty poorly at a Japanese place nearby.
It turns out Asian Bowl has excellent food and very friendly, all at a great price.
The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is extremely friendly.
Highly recommend!!

I am still in disbelief this place is able to make it. I live near it and it’s the only restaurant in this shopping center and the one next to it where Grayslake Butera is located. So some people must truly like it. It’s just not to my liking. It’s not horrible but I seriously doubt I’d ever go back. Sorry Asian Bowl.
2nd worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Amount of food in compare to cost, it appears is about the same per reviews, as when I first ate there when it first opened up. It was tasteless when I ate there and just didn’t feel somehow like a restaurant. Hard to explain. But when I noticed in last week it still appears to be in business I thought I’d look up reviews. Quite intrigued why?
Perhaps some are lucky they love this place which is what must be keeping it going. But based on my experience my beliefs for my opinion still hold true. I was truly hoping when it first opened up it would be better living and driving past it twice a day most weeks as Asian food has always been my favorite food cuisine for as long as i remember. My first job was in a Chinese restaurant in high school in Cook County and I must have been dedicated as I made a whopping dollar, yes only $1 per hour and zero tips to offset it.
I had already loved Asian food since I was very young and between that and having watched cooks who were from Asia cook numerous dishes where I worked decades ago I felt I made a good guess at how long it would be before they also shut down after having see no other restaurant make it between the two shopping centers.
I’m happy to see any business thrive and they help Grayslake economy but it’s just not my cup of tea. For Grayslake area take out Chinese I recommend China Chef in Third Lake off of RT 45. For buffet I definitely recommend hibachi grill off of RT 120 in Waukegan (barely into Waukegan) near Waukegan road near Fountain Square shopping center.
Just my opinion.

My husband and I have been ordering from Asian Bowl for 7 or 8 years. Their food is addictively good. I’m a big fan of the red and green curries, but there are so many other amazing dishes on their menu. And, they deliver! You really must try them. I doubt you’d be disappointed.

Service was horrible and server literally did not speak a word to us (respond when we said thank you, ask how the food was, nothing). The lady who took our order gave us attitude for not wanting to order the lunch buffet. To top it off there was a sign next to the toilet that said please don’t flush tissue and there was an open garbage can next to the toilet with used toilet paper.. Just gross. Trying to put these other factors aside the food was bland and not very good. There is way better Thai in graylake and Libertyville.

Asian Bowl is one of my favorite restaurants in Grayslake. It is clean, friendly and the food is always good. I like their yellow curry, tom yum, and larb salad. Their Pad Thai is very good too. They have good hours and a lunch buffet during the week. They also have great Thai tea and Boba. My mom likes their mochi.
