We had a wonderful evening at Ashoka. The food was great, authentically Indian and the portion sizes were perfect (we were full!). The vegetarian dishes were very tasty. We had Palak paneer and Chana masala (the latter was sublime!). The waiters were very polite and the service wasn’t rushed. They let us stay the whole evening. The vibe was very calming and cozy, and there was a joyful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. I would give it a 10/10 if the rating was not only until 5.

I did visit this amazing restaurant due to my travels during the WindEnergy fair.
The service is amazing, the food is amazing and just really authentic..
The decor, staff and food is just really Indian.
I have some allergies and they are really helpful and better is that they have a lot of options for allergies but also Vegan and vegetarian.
Definitely not the last time I visit this restaurant, if it is due to business travels, events or private travels.
I will make recommendations to my clients and family
The only negative I can tell is that they only take cash for tips
Thank you for a great experience

Great Indian restaurant with friendly and attentive service as well as tasty food.
We enjoyed their veg dinner menu which gave a good insight in their cuisine style and tastes. Prices are similar to other Indian eatery’s in Hamburg but service, presentation of food and toilets were way better.
Enjoy the outside terrace at summertime and give it a try.

Amazing restaurant with delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. The staff are very friendly and can speak English quite fluently. They have a vegan and vegetarian friendly menu and you control the level of spice in your food. I love Indian food and this was one of the better places I’ve been to in my life. All in all a very welcoming and lovely place which I would heartily recommend if you’re in Hamburg and want some great Indian food.

This was the best curry house I’ve ever been to; the prices were reasonable, staff were friendly and spoke brilliant English, the atmosphere was nice and fit the decor perfectly, and the curries were absolutely delicious! I am a vegan and my boyfriend doesn’t like spice so we aren’t easy to please in a curry house, but both were thrilled with our meals and will definitely be returning next time we are in Hamburg!

I can’t judge the authenticity of the dishes since I’ve never been to India, all I can say is that they tasted absolutely amazing.
There are lots of vegan options, including a soya mango lassi and the garlic naan is made with ghee, which I was really happy about.
Cozy restaurant, super tasty food and friendly service so overall a great experience. Definitely recommended.

Extremely friendly service and delicious food. Reserved a table for a Friday night and upon arrival they were able to seat us 15 minutes early. I couldn’t find the full menu online anywhere, but there is something for everyone and the spice/heat level can be adjusted per dish. We shared a vegetarian starter that was a mix of onion and vegetable pakora, paneer, samosas, fresh veggies, and three chutneys with papadam, plus an order of garlic naan and two more sauces (I think these are complimentary?). We devoured it all and it had arrived very quickly. A waitress efficiently cleared our table and asked us if we wanted our remaining sauces and chutneys to be used on our mains, which we affirmed. Our mains, chicken saag and tikki masala, and came out soon after that with beautiful fragrant rice. We couldn’t finish it all since we had such large appetizers, but I would say the portion was a nice manageable size that could likely be finished without starters. The waitress offered to box up what we hadn’t finished which was quite kind. We lingered for a while and when we asked for the check it came immediately. We were able to split the bill between two cards without a problem and enjoyed a spoonful or two mukhwas before leaving. We would definitely come back without hesitation, and recommend making reservations as a precaution.
