Ticks every box.
Preparations are just phenomenal and the chefs can customise any dish as per your own taste and liking.
Special mention to Sumi and team for the phenomenal service. Keep up the good work guys.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff members — Sumi, Marius, Koushik, and the entire team. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful, constantly ensuring that everything was perfect for us. Their hospitality made the celebration feel less like a restaurant event and more like a beautiful home party.
And of course, the food was absolutely delicious! We tried almost everything — from the vegan options to the lamb curries — and each dish was full of flavour. My personal favourite was the chicken saag, and the naans were simply outstanding. Every dish exceeded our expectations.
Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday so special and memorable. We will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to host a celebration or enjoy amazing food with exceptional service
Ordered from Ashoka Restaurant via Deliveroo — two chapatti, paneer korma, and Kashmiri pulao.
They took ONE FULL HOUR just to prepare the food. No apology, no explanation, just slow and careless service.
The Kashmiri pulao was a complete scam. Plain rice with 2–3 tiny pieces of fruit and nothing else. That’s not Kashmiri pulao. Not even close. It didn’t match their own menu description.
I am Indian and I know exactly how Kashmiri pulao looks and tastes. This was fake, lazy cooking and straight-up misleading.
I called the restaurant and spoke to a guy with a clear Indian accent who claimed his name was “Daniel”. He didn’t even say sorry. Just said, “we make it like this.” That alone tells you how little they care.
This place is defaming Indian cuisine by serving rubbish and calling it authentic. If you don’t know how to cook Indian food properly, don’t sell it.
Total waste of money and time. Overpriced, inauthentic, and dishonest.
Avoid this place completely.
The real highlight of our visit, though, was the incredible staff. Mariu, Vaishnavi, and another lovely young lady Dhanushka were all so friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed and genuinely went above and beyond to make our evening special. Their warm hospitality made us feel so welcome, and they truly made our dinner happy and memorable.
A huge thank you to them – we really appreciate your kindness and professionalism. We wish you all the best in your future at Hotel Ashoka. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Ashoka Finnieston! From the moment we walked in, Sumi & the team made us feel so welcome with their warm hospitality and attentive service. The food was nothing short of amazing – bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection.
Every dish exceeded our expectations, and the overall atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy. I can’t recommend this place enough – if you’re looking for fantastic food and exceptional service, Ashoka Finnieston is a must-visit!
We were a party of 9 friends meeting up for a reunion.
After waiting in the vestibule for 10 minutes to be seated at our pre-booked table, we ordered drinks and starters. The starters took 20 minutes to arrive, and the drinks followed 10 minutes after that with several substitutions due to lack of availability.
We then waited a full hour between finishing the starters for the mains to arrive. One person waited an additional 10 minutes for their main, and another received a completely different dish to what he ordered despite the insistence of the waiter that it was the correct dish.
A friend and I ordered two Cosmopolitans (£8.50 each), again taking a very long time to arrive. The ice cubes had become small rounded pebbles, indicating that either they had been sitting out for a good while before being brought to the table, or that the constituent ingredients had not been refrigerated. The taste and quality was akin to something you’d get for £2.50 out of a can. We rejected them, and thankfully the staff obliged in removing them from the bill.
While the food was good when it eventually came the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. We were in the restaurant from 18:00 until 20:50, far longer than anticipated. It is clear that there is a management issue in the restaurant, and a mis-allocation of resources and priorities. There was an attitude of “nothing is wrong” from the staff, we never received any apology for the long wait times. We felt like we were burdening them with our presence, which is not the way one wants to feel when paying hundreds of pounds for the pleasure.
Several guests took smoke breaks outside in the hour between the starters and mains. It was observed that delivery drivers were always waiting around in the vestibule. If you cannot keep up with the demand of your in-house guests, you should not still be servicing delivery orders. Similarly, cocktail making is a skill. They should not be on the menu if the staff do not have the requisite training to make them well.
The bathrooms were not clean either. While I’ve seen much worse, it is still unpleasant when the floor is sticky, and there is caked residue on the taps and washbasin. The music was on a 10-track loop, which becomes slightly maddening when you’re sitting for 3 hours.
All in all the restaurant gives the impression of being on a downward slope, mismanaged, with tired and stressed staff, its glory days behind it.
