I used to frequent this place a few years ago (when it was in the other space). I took a friend of mine here to kill time before a business meeting. I loved the new space and what they’ve done with it.

We decided to hit the head then order something to kill time before our meeting.

The male bartender acted as if our mere presence was disturbing him. He answered questions about the products with a sigh and was impatient. We took our order, sat at a table – and kind of felt we simply weren’t wanted and didn’t belong. That’s a huge gap from how the place was years ago when I last visited.

The place was empty except for the two of us. I suspected at the time it was because we were early – but maybe not – as the entire atmosphere was negative.

We finished our drinks, deposited the recycling and I got up to return the pounder glass to the bar with a thanks. The guy gave me a look of pure irritation. We left immediately thereafter.

I was embarrassed – I talked the place up for a long time and finally got my friend to visit – just to have that experience.

Needless to say – I won’t be going back. Would not recommend to anyone anymore.

This place is great for meeting friends, huge selection of board games. The do not serve food anymore, update website maybe? Also, service was terrible, the guy acted like we were bothering him. My son assures me the normal girl is a thousand times better. Will definately go back.

I don’t know where to start other than if you have a different view & opinion on life don’t go here..!
Here’s how it went today.. I did some work near by and was in the mood for an adult beverage. I got a business call and while on the phone I saw their sign and I have a friend in another town who’s bar has the same name.. So I went inside and looked around. I saw all the board games about a dozen pinball machines and I thought being a 20 year retired bar owner I might like to have a cold brew. I went up to the counter and handed the owner my card to create small talk before I ordered my cold draft, she walked backwards as I was telling her I have a friend with the same named bar she put my business card in the trash.. I was shocked to say the least.. I asked if she put it in the trash she said yes, I asked why and if she wasn’t interested she could’ve handed it back.. As she went into the trash to hand it back she pointed said my shirt offended her. I looked at it and said really.? Are you that triggered over a shirt..? She said yes..
(On my left breast of my shirt it says Alligator Alcatraz..)
As she walked away from me she waved at me and shood me away.. I’ve never been asked to leave a business before sober anyways.. Lol it was obvious she is only interested in customers with like minds and nothing else.. Obviously she’s small minded & not interested in other people’s money who think differently than her in her business.. Very sad, I could see myself having a drink or try some food once in a while here, not now… I like owner operator bars but not this one.. I actually give this place a -10 stars because of her being so triggered over a shirt and not wanting to know the person wearing the shirt.. Major missed opportunity….!

I love this place! Board games at a bar. Plus Pin ball machines! The atmosphere here is so relaxed, brightly lit and inviting. Feels more like you’re visiting your friend’s house than like you’re going to a pub.

No hard alcohol is served here. Fantastic craft beer, and wine though. Snacks are available to be purchased (like chips), and you are welcome to bring your own food in to enjoy as well.

This place is comfortable and creative. A super hero bar top, 3 books cases loaded with different kinds of board/card games to play at your leisure and lots of tables to play at. Bring a date, bring a friend, bring your crew, it’s the perfect place to just have fun and hang out.

I love Ashley’s Pub. They have always had a supportive, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for people from all walks of life. Fair pricing on their drinks, and a decent sized selection as well. So happy to see they have made it through this past year, and are still as amazing as they have always been.

Update: Their new larger location is Beautiful with the private game rooms, and expanded pinball selection. Still highly recommended.

Like walking into your best friend’s livingroom! The only place I don’t feel like chum in a shark frenzy just by walking in. There are shelves and shelves of board games! Card games! Video games and more! Folks here are chill and comfortable. A welcome respite.

A great place to hang out with friends. I DM a D&D game with 3 to 4 players several times a month and we can usually get a game room to ourselves, play for three hours and just plain have fun.

Entrance in the evening is from the courtyard on 4th St. 21+ only.

Once inside you will find a well lit, open pub with plenty of large tables for 1 to 10 of your friends to sit around and play a game from the pub’s library of games. They also have a N64 and a moderate selection of games to choose from. The staff is knowledgable in many of the games if you find yourself unsure what to play or need a little assistance with the rules. Many of the regulars also are willing to help in setting up a game. You might find a game of Cornhole going on in the courtyard on nice days. They have 16 taps that are roatating of local beers and ciders. They also have 2 large reach in coolers for mead, beer, and ciders in the bottle or can for purchase. They have a small selection of snacks (chips, peanuts, etc) for purchase but if you want a full meal you may bring it in from other local establishments. This is a safe place and welcoming to all.

This is a cute little basement pub with an awesome little patio. There are walls of games and books and pinball, as well as 12 beer traps, 4 ciders, and cases of bottles/cans. My nerdy heart went wild in here.
I’ll definitely be back!

I saw the 1-star review by the guy who was wearing an Alligator Alcatraz shirt (!?!?) and got triggered over their business card being tossed. I’d like to correct the record and insist that this place is chill. I once brought a non-leftist to the pub and he wasn’t kicked out! Of course, he wasn’t picking quarrels with people either. Come to think of it, politics never even came up! Not even on a shirt! We just played games and had beers and laughs without bothering anyone. Imagine that!

I come here regularly during the week days and all sorts of people show up. Just have basic levels of respect and don’t have a conniption if you see a rainbow flag or two. Bring friends if you have them or be friendly and make some!
