This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we decided to place a take out order. The pizza, Caesar salad, and the Italian sandwich were all fresh and delicious! The pizza we ordered was topped with pepperoni, sausage, hot honey, and extra cheese. The crust was crispy and flavorful. The salad was fresh and accompanied by a homemade Caesar dressing.
The Italian sandwich was fresh and tasty.

We dined here for the first time today. The food was delicious and the service was gracious and quick. We shared the smoked fish appetizer which was out of this world. I had the farro grain bowl which was prepared perfectly. My husband had the meatball marinara provolone sandwich which he raved about. We noticed that several reviews complained about having to go to the counter to place the order, but we felt it was super efficient. We also enjoyed the fact that when we were done our meal we could just leave instead of having to wait for the check. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other menu items!

From the moment we walked in, Charles, the GM, and the owner, Gregg, welcomed us in and made us feel like we were regulars even though it was our first time here. The food was simple, but delicious. They source as much food as possible locally, which ai love. I had the seasonal Peach Panzanella Salad with burrata and my partner had the arugula salad with salmon and we started with the warm olives. If you’re in Ashland, this is a must visit! It’s next to Cross Bros. where the coffee shop used to be – and – good news – they are opening a gelato/espresso shop soon!

We stopped in for an early dinner, and the restaurant was not crowded at all. The staff was incredibly welcoming and gracious with suggestions regarding the menu. You have to order at the bar and then find a seat and they bring it to you then you have to pay at the bar when you leave. Not my favorite style of service. The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived with a lot of families with younger children. Once the restaurant got more crowded, it appeared the staff was stretched a little thin and struggled to remember requests for ketchup, a box for leftovers, etc. I had the meatballs and the steak frites, which both were delicious. We had the cocktail of the day which was a watermelon vodka cocktail – it had the makings of a great cocktail, but it appeared the proportions were off.

This will be a first for me. I generally do not review in my own backyard. I spend my days delivering boxes elsewhere!

Since opening I have only heard negative comments about Ash & Olive from a few friends. The owner is unfriendly. Hmm… new restaurant, new staff, new oven, new bar… yea, I’d be a little stressed myself!!! Fear not, I have a bad habit of checking things out myself. How refreshing! At first glance, you have to take in the room. Spacious. Plenty of room for privacy and definitely wheelchair accessible. I absolutely dig the seating arrangements. A little something for any occasion.

My group of four arrived at eight. Part of our entourage had a previous not so great “experience”. We chose the couches with coffee table set up. Loved it. It’s just not something I’m used to in Ashland. Bravo! Okay… we were just there for vino and proof that Ash & Olive was doomed to failure. Oh dear… the evening was perfect. The ambiance was cool. We had a great time. Excellent wine selection. We ordered at the counter (Concept matches a great many restaurants I frequent worldwide). As I mentioned, we were just there for the vino , but one glance at the menu and I had to dive in. I ordered their Fab Four pizza. Yummy!!! The staff was fun and energetic. We did not wait on any of our orders even though all the tables were occupied.

At nine the Chris and Jeremy tag team showed up to run the now Ash & Olive Speakeasy. Nice job. We dropped the vino thing and tried a couple of cocktails recommended by Jeremy. Chris was busy checking in with all the tables. Impressive. Did I mention we live in walking distance?

Fun evening. My hats off to the owner. If you take a look at the reviews you’ll notice he answers them all. That’s another level of care and crazy. Nice!!!

If you’re in Ashland or on the ropes as to where to spend a comfortable and quaint evening, come check Ash&Olive out.

07/25/25: Another great evening at Ash & Olive. Excellent wine selection. All of our entrees were delicious, perfectly cooked. We called ahead and let them know that we were bringing our own birthday cake. They were thankful for the advance notice. All in all, another great evening.

The three of us went to Olive & Ash for dinner on a Friday night at 7:30. Despite the chaos, it had a great vibe, and the staff explained that they could get us a table in about 15 minutes.

You go straight to the counter to check in, and they ask if you have a table. There is a mix of lounge options with sofas and chairs, booth tables with half of the seating in chairs, and a few tables. We sat at the bar with our beverages for about 5 minutes when one of the lounge areas came available. We had the menus to review while we were waiting, and they had a menu board filled with specials.

After we were seated, we went to the counter to order and pay. I asked if they could make the Salmon Oscar special, which has fingerling potatoes and asparagus, gluten free. They removed the sauce, and assured me they would change gloves, although they couldn’t guarantee there would be no cross contamination because they also make personal pizzas. It was delicious! I didn’t have any issues either.

My husband ordered the GF A-O Salad with grilled chicken, and our son ordered a personal cheese pizza. It was all great!

We will definitely be back, and we will likely make reservations to make it easier.

I took a chance and stopped here for a late lunch off the highway today. The space is artsy, the vibe is relaxing, and the food is fresh and tasty. The restaurant is nestled in the heart of Ashland, a very engaging small town. There is abundant parking close by. I ordered at the counter and enjoyed browsing the amenities while my food was freshly prepared. Charles, Sierra, and the rest of the crew made me feel right at home. Ash and Olive is thousand times better than the fast food places off Route 95 and it’s definitely worth the stop.

Ash + Olive has quickly become my only reason to come to Ashland. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel like family. The service is consistently excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

The food is where Ash + Olive really shines. We had their pizza, and it was outstanding. The toppings were incredibly creative, but more importantly, the flavors blended together perfectly. Every bite felt unique yet balanced, showing real thought and craft behind their menu. The meatballs were another highlight—tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

If you’re looking for a place in Ashland that delivers great food, exceptional service, and a cozy, family-like vibe, Ash + Olive is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended!

Ashland’s neighborhood icon specialty deli/market has finally opened a restaurant in the adjoining event venue. There is a variety of comfy seating arrangements throughout the space and the roaring fire from the pizza oven creates some nice atmosphere (adding to the charm of 60 trains a day rolling by the front door).

Stopped in for a Neopolitan pizza that was quite tasty, if not quite “Vera Pizza Neopoliana”. The lemon Italian cream cake dessert was pretty darn good. This place is newly opened and it has potential. Update: we returned for a pizza and grilled vegetables — even better this time!

Really cool vibe – sort of a European café mixed with a pizzaria and art gallery. Great date night spot. We ordered the Margherita pizza, meatball panuozzo, whipped feta, and a sunrise margarita for a drink. The pizza and meatballs were fantastic! So was the whipped feta. The drink was fine, little heavy of a pour for me but otherwise good.
