Breakfast/lunch spot. Kawamoto was closed so we found this place nearby. I’m glad that we discovered this place as well. Since it was our first time, I asked the server to pick whatever for us and she took her time and listed each item and explained what it was. We went later in the day so it wasn’t as fresh but still very delicious.

I got here at 630 in the morning. It’s where all the locals are picking up both breakfast as well as their lunches for later.
I asked them to make surprise me and put together a bento that would travel well on the plane. It did not disappoint! I was the luckiest person on my flight back to the mainland. What a treat. It’s great to see these places these old Hilo establishments still being an important part of the community.

Local family. Opens at 6 am. Normally peaople waiting @ 6, for very good reasons. Serves fresh made food that is possibly the best quality, best price hot breakfast in Hilo – ONLY TO GO. This place is slammed from six oclock on, they either close at 1 or when they run out of food, whatever comes first. — Many local Hawaiian folks who work hard and need to eat well, kick off here with a great to go. Take it and eat on the bay. — Eat by the peace, build your breakfast. Consistently my favorite breakfast place in Hilo to go.!!! 😉 Enjoy J
