Love love love the food – miss the sushi. Despite the issues a couple years ago on Valentine’s Day, I’ve always received wonderful services over the last 15 year. As a queer woman, I’ve never experienced anything but kindness from the staff. Their sushi was next level delicious, the zig zag rolls was by far, the best. Their hibachi is also delicious I recommend the steak, chicken, and scallops.

Tried to eat here 2 times now and they were closed both times! Very disappointed! Is this place still in business? Their page says they are open but the doors are closed and parking lot is empty!

Nice location/environment, food was passable but not worth the amount as far as portions go. Pros was good options (lobster & fillet mignon, although only 10% of menu was available), cons was very unprofessional. Not from whole staff, cook was nice but lady at front desk was horrible. Took my plates before I finished & was rushing me out the door. Take in mind I waited until dinner so they would be more available & they only had one other table being occupied at the time so it’s not like the place was busy. Overall bad experience, would not return. (Paid 23 for a small chicken Plate that would be max 10 at any other location, with poor service)

I came here for my 21st birthday and none of my parties food had any flavor (no salt or pepper). The meat was over cooked and so was the fried rice. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all!

It was a solid 3 star only because the ambiance and soup/ salad were no good… the entree was done right and seasoned well… what made this place was the hibachi chef… he teminded me of Mel fro Mel’s diner back in the day… this is a no frills place but kind pricey for what you pay… we laughed a lot and it was a good time… if we had looked harder we would have probably gone to one of the newer better lit places… but this is lafayette… for us to pass through it was a gamble, but mostly paid off… seemed like a locals place for hibachi… only gripe, need better lighting and to freshen up the place…

The hours for Asahi were posted 5-9 pm for Friday. They were closed and had no notice as to why. There were 5 of us and 2 groups of 6 waiting for them to open. I would suggest they update their hours or give notice that they are closed at the doors so people can find elsewhere to eat.
