after reading the good reviews here I decided to give this restaurant a shot – and it was well worth it! food was amazing – all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. we wanted to try a bit of everything and ended up not being able to decide what we loved the most!
the atmosphere in Asahi is very cozy and pleasant and staff were super polite and helpful.

I had lunch here with my family today, and it was an incredibly satisfying experience. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the service was attentive to every single person.

The prices were more reasonable than I expected, yet the food was high-quality and very fresh. The texture of the rice in the sushi and rolls was excellent, and the seafood was fresh and full of flavor. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed such authentic Japanese cuisine.

There is also a private room inside that fits about 20 people, which seems perfect for group gatherings. I plan to come back for future family get-togethers or company dinners. The staff were also very kind. This is definitely a must-visit spot in the area.

i love how clean tasting the sushi is. very good quality, fresh, and good flavors. the atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful and the restaurant is very clean. the staff is very friendly and nice too. i’ll definitely be coming back regularly. the restaurant is located in a little courtyard-like area and i can’t wait to sit outside on the benches after eating when the weather is nice.

We had an awesome experience at Asahi! I visited with my wife and our son, and the experience was great for all of us. The food was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff.

My wife doesn’t eat fish, but she was pleasantly surprised by the variety of great vegetarian and vegetable options, which she really enjoyed. On top of that, the portion sizes for the price were outstanding — easily a 10/10 on value. Highly recommend this place for both sushi lovers and vegetarians alike!

Not a bad place but not necessarily a keeper for me. It helps there’s parking nearby and the service is very good, as well as clean inside. The atmosphere is comfortable and a nice setting to go with someone. However the food is average tasting. The miso soup is like most restaurants so not standout. The salad was a little disappointing. The bowls have been sitting in a refrigerator for awhile, which is obvious because the lettuce has no crunch or crispness to it. And the dressing needs work. I ordered yakisoba and found it slightly on the sweet side, and had no ginger, which helps make yakisoba pop. My wife had the unidon, which she enjoyed (but I suspect not strongly), and my son had the poke bowl, which he said was ok, but not a keeper.

Authentic Japanese restaurant, Delicious sushi, wonderful staff, located in a cute area in courthouse. The restaurant was just off the busy street with street parking available. We made a reservation but there was plenty of seating when we got there.
The food stole the show, we enjoyed some gyoza and spicy tuna sticks for an appetizer, followed by Sushi platter A with some extra tuna nigiri. The spicy yellowtail roll and Philadelphia roll accompanied the sashimi which were all delicious. I couldn’t help myself but order an additional majesty roll which was gone before I could even get a picture of it! We finished the evening with green tea and strawberry mochi which were well done and also really good.
Overall the food was terrific and will definitely be getting sushi here again! It seems they do a ton of takeout as there was always several people picking up food. Definitely do yourself a favor and stop in for some really good and authentic sushi and sashimi!

Food was decent, service wasn’t great. Taste and flavor profile was pretty authentic for the food i tried compared to the ones in Japan. Tempura Ice Cream was tasty, but pocky sticks felt unnecessary.

Amazing sushi, excellent service, and a great atmosphere! My girlfriend and I had an amazing time right around Christmas and the Chef made us specialty sashimi roses after our meal, they were delicious! Go-to spot for sushi in Courthouse!

You gotta try this sushi restaurant. Firstly, and most importantly, the food is just damn good. They’re not one of those sushi restaurants that tries to cheap out by putting Philadelphia cheese in everything. Every role that I’ve had from them tastes both fresh and satisfying.

The other great thing, is that it’s owned by a lovely Korean family. They put a lot of effort into their food and it shows they’re also just delightful people to be around. You go more than a few times and they know you.

There’s a part of me that almost doesn’t want to write this review, because it’s atmosphere would almost suffer if they had wall-to-wall customers. But they certainly deserve to have that much. Skip the other cheapo sushi restaurants in Clarendon, make this your regular lunch spot. The Bulgogi bento box is worth it alone.

We love Asahi! Overall, it offers very friendly service and excellent quality to price options. My favorite rolls are the Verizon and Majesty. Ramen is nice too! My husband and I enjoy making this part of our regular Arlington restaurant rotation.
